  • Publication number: 20020014667
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of horizontally growing carbon nanotubes, in which the carbon nanotubes can be selectively grown in a horizontal direction at specific locations of a substrate having catalyst formed thereat, so that the method can be usefully utilized in fabricating nano-devices. The method includes the steps of: (a) forming a predetermined catalyst pattern on a first substrate; (b) forming a vertical growth preventing layer on the first substrate, which prevents carbon nanotubes from growing in a vertical direction; (c) forming apertures through the vertical growth preventing layer and the first substrate to expose the catalyst pattern through the apertures; and (d) synthesizing carbon nanotubes at exposed surfaces of the catalyst pattern in order to grow the carbon nanotubes in the horizontal direction.

  • Patent number: 6337674
Abstract: An alternating-current plasma display panel (AC PDP) and a method for driving same are provided that reduce or remove flickering and increase luminance. The AC PDP can include first electrodes connected to one another, second electrodes for display lines that are in parallel with the first electrodes, and addressing electrodes provided orthogonal to the first and second electrodes. The first and second electrodes perform a wall charge accumulation function and form display lines. The method for driving the AC PDP can include writing a sub-frame to the plasma display panel device (PDP) in an addressing period for maintenance discharge to an odd(even) sub-frame and simultaneously performing the maintenance discharge on the even(odd) sub-frame. Then, carrying out the maintenance discharge on the odd(even) sub-frame, and at the same time writing the sub-frame to the plasma display panel device in the addressing period for the next succeeding maintenance discharge to the even(odd) sub-frame.

  • Patent number: 6160437
Abstract: The present invention discloses a multiplexer including that provides an output signal having a voltage range substantially equal to an input signal. The multiplexer further provides a breakdown prevention device that protects elements connected to an output terminal. The multiplexer can be used in an LCD driver or the like. The multiplexer according to the present invention can include a first switching circuit that receives a first input signal, a second switching circuit that receives a second input signal, wherein the first and second switching circuits are complementarily enabled in response to a three control signals, a third switching circuit that receives the first input signal switched from the first switching circuit and a fourth switching circuit that receives the second input signal switched from the second switching circuit. The third and fourth switching circuits are complementarily enabled by a selection signal to provide one of the first and second input signals to the output terminal.
