Abstract: Disclosed are a master terminal capable of registering and managing terminals that belong to a personal use scope, which will be referred to as personally used terminals or personal use terminals, hereafter, and a method and system for managing personal use terminals by using the master terminal. The method for managing a personal use group using a first master terminal to register and manage terminals belonging to a personal use scope includes: requesting a second master terminal that belongs to the personal use scope for personal use group information; receiving the personal use group information from the second master terminal; and registering a terminal that belongs to the personal use scope as the personal use group based on the received personal use group information.

Abstract: Disclosed is a broadcasting signal receiving apparatus for controlling use of a broadcasting program using a signature in program information and a method thereof. The broadcasting signal receiving apparatus includes a communicating unit for receiving a broadcasting signal, an extracting unit for extracting a broadcasting program and program information from the received broadcasting signal, and a determining unit configured to generate a temporal signature for confirmation (confirmation signature) which determines whether the program information is changed or not from the original program information and determine validity of the program information by comparing a signature included in the extracted program information with the confirmation signature.

Abstract: This research discloses a digital broadcasting contents transmitting/receiving apparatus that can quickly and easily purchase broadcasting contents, and a method thereof. The apparatus for receiving a digital broadcasting includes: a broadcasting contents receiver configured to receive a broadcasting content and first program protection information (PPI) including distribution scope information of the broadcasting content; a content storage configured to store the received broadcasting content; a purchase requester configured to transmit purchase request information according to a purchase request of a user for the stored broadcasting content; and a PPI controller configured to replace the first PPI with second PPI transmitted to the broadcasting contents receiver in response to the purchase request and including information on a changed distribution scope of the broadcasting content for which the purchase request is made.

Abstract: Provided are a system and a method for providing contents using an open API. A contents storing unit stores at least one contents. An open API unit is common to upper applications on the basis of a wired network interface and provides an API that is a communication function realized as components. A communication capability providing unit combines the API with the contents selected by the contents provider, and adds a communication function to the contents on the basis of usable network resources. The contents providing unit provides contents in which a communication function is added.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable and compact umbrella capable of being folded compactly without exposing umbrella ribs and umbrella cloth thereby being easily carried and stored. A portable and compact umbrella according to the present invention includes an extendable umbrella stick extended and retracted to change its length, wherein the extendable umbrella stick has a sheltering means provided at one side thereof and a fixing protrusion provided at the other side thereof; and a handle member having both ends communicating with each other and a receiving space defined therein, wherein the receiving space is partitioned by a cylindrical winding unit, the winding unit has an inner space formed inside thereof so that the extendable umbrella stick is retracted and received in the inner space, and the winding unit has an outer space formed outside thereof so that the sheltering means is wound around the winding unit and received in the outer space.

Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and method for modeling and analyzing a network simulation for a salable simulation framework (SSF)-based network simulation package. A system logic set is generated and a network simulation modeling suitable for a predetermined network application is formed according to the system logic set. The network simulation modeling is transmitted to a predetermined network simulation package that performs simulation. Statistical information is generated based on the result according to the system logic set. Complicated network simulation modeling errors can be minimized, and remodeling of the network simulation modeling can be reduced.

Abstract: A mobile station apparatus for determining reverse transmission power in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing system is provided. A reception module receives from a base station a Reverse-Link Assignment Message including a Packet Format (PF) field and a Reverse-Link Power Control (RLPC) field. A power level adjuster determines a nominal reverse transmission power level depending on information of the PF field, and determines a relative final transmission power level shifted by an offset value defined in the RLPC field from the nominal transmission power level.

Abstract: A capacitor assembly includes a first electrode, a second electrode, a dielectric portion, a body and a conductive cover. The second electrode overlaps the first electrode. The dielectric portion is interposed between the first and second electrodes. The body surrounds an outer surface of the dielectric portion, the first electrode and the second electrode, and partially exposes end portions of the first and second electrodes. The conductive cover covers a side surface of the body, and has a greater width than a width of each of the end portions of the first and second electrodes. Therefore, yield of the capacitor assembly is increased, and defects are decreased.

Abstract: Provided is a method for transmitting feedback information by a receiver in a mobile communication system that performs multiplexing transmission using array antennas. The method includes determining a weight set for maximizing a data rate among at least one weight set having, as its elements, multiple orthonormal weight vectors, based on a fading channel estimated from a pilot channel of received data; estimating channel state information corresponding to a weight vector of the determined weight set; and generating and transmitting feedback information including an index of the determined weight set, the selected weight vector information, and the channel state information corresponding to the weight vector.

Abstract: A method and apparatus using Virtual Circuit Switching (VCS) in a new scheme are provided for allocating and employing resources by combining Circuit Switching (CS) and Packet Switching (PS), in which a base station allocates resources of a dedicated channel using the CS to a user and then transmits data on the dedicated channel. When data is not transmitted to the user, the base station allocates the allocated dedicated channel resources for resources of a shared channel and transmits data of a different user. Therefore, system capacity can be increased and a waste of communication resources can be minimized in a wireless communication system for frequently transmitting a small amount of traffic that is sensitive to a delay time.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and an apparatus for efficient ACKnowledgment/NonACKnowledgement (ACK/NACK) transmission in order to transmit forward data for multiple layers and support Hybrid Automatic Retransmission reQuest (HARQ) for each layer in a mobile communication system. The method includes determining whether transmission of the ACK/NACK is for a first layer or for layers higher than the first layer; and when the transmission of the ACK/NACK is for layers higher than the first layer, transmitting the reverse ACK/NACK by allocating resources to the higher layers with a quantity different from that of the first layer.

Abstract: A method for transmitting data in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system. The data transmission method includes determining a number of diversity tiles, each of which includes physically separated frequency resources; dividing an entire system band into diversity subbands including the diversity tiles and localized subbands including localized tiles, each of which includes physically adjacent frequency resources, when the determined number of diversity tiles is greater than a threshold; uniformly distributing the diversity tiles over the entire system band, and disposing the localized tiles in the remaining bands except for the diversity tiles, when the determined number of diversity files is not greater than the threshold; and transmitting data to multiple terminals over the configured diversity tiles and localized tiles using diversity transmission and localized transmission schemes.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for hopping of a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) control segment that carries control information in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) packet data mobile communication system are provided, in which a number of CDMA control segment hopping zones, each CDMA control segment hopping zone representing a frequency area for CDMA control segment hopping, is determined according to a total number of available tiles in the system and a number of tiles per CDMA control segment, each tile including a predetermined number of subcarriers, or according to a total number of available subcarriers in the system and a number of subcarriers per CDMA control segment. Start points of the hopping zones are determined using the number of the hopping zones, and the control information is transmitted or received in the CDMA control segment through hopping of the CDMA control segment over the hopping zones using the start points.

Abstract: A mobile terminal and a method for downloading a message in a mobile terminal, the method includes receiving a notification message comprising information indicating whether a media file included in a transmitted message is modified, and selectively requesting downloading of the transmitted message to the mobile terminal, if the media file is modified, based upon a message reception mode of the mobile terminal.
