  • Publication number: 20160246987
Abstract: An information handling system (IHS) performs security policy enforcement using security policy data maintained in an embedded controller, which operates within a privileged environment. The security policy data identifies security policies established for the IHS. The EC is directly connected to a number of sensors from which the EC receives sensor data and to at least one integrated functional device. The EC determines whether the received sensor data fulfills any trigger condition of a security policy. If the received sensor data does not fulfill any trigger condition of a security policy described by the security policy data, the EC continues to monitor sensors for updated sensor data. However, if the received sensor data fulfills any trigger condition of the security policy, the EC performs a security measure that involves enabling, disabling, or resetting one or more of the at least one integrated functional devices that can be disabled.

  • Publication number: 20160207692
Abstract: A dry food dispenser includes a base, a container, and an actuation mechanism. The base supports the dispenser, provides a cradle for receiving a food receptacle, and a trigger for interacting with the actuation mechanism. The container includes a lateral surface formed around an interior volume and a dispensing mechanism with a chute, an outlet, and a portioning mechanism. The dispensing mechanism is activated by the trigger through means of the actuation mechanism. The dispensing mechanism allows for example cereal to flow from the interior volume, through the chute, and out of the outlet. The portioning mechanism controls how much cereal is dispensed each time the trigger is engaged, ensuring a consistent volume of cereal deposited in the food receptacle. The amount of cereal in the container is indicated by measurement markings on a transparent section of the lateral surface.

  • Publication number: 20160170862
Abstract: An information handling system, method, and computer-readable media for obfuscating debugging filenames during a software build are described. The system comprises one or more processors, a memory, and one or more program modules stored on the memory and executable by the one or more processors. The one or more program modules compile a source code file of a plurality of source code files into a program, generate a debugging file including debugging information for the program, utilize a one-way deterministic function to generate an obfuscated filename for the debugging file, and include a link to the debugging file in the program, the link including the obfuscated filename.

  • Publication number: 20160162689
Abstract: Methods and systems for generating and using a BIOS security display include determining whether a change in a BIOS user setting is associated with security of an information handling system. When the BIOS user setting is associated with security, a security level for the BIOS may be calculated based on weighted security values for BIOS user settings. Security levels for boot phases may also be individually calculated. The security levels may be displayed in the BIOS to the user when the BIOS user setting is changed.

  • Patent number: 9314657
Abstract: An exercise assembly for allowing a user to practice the sport of arm wrestling includes a table that may be positioned on a support surface. A support arm is coupled to the table. The support arm extends upwardly from the table. A spring biasing member is coupled to the support arm. A handle is coupled to the spring biasing member. The handle is oriented at an angle with respect to the spring biasing member. The user's hand and forearm are positioned in the convention of arm wrestling when the user grips the handle. A piston is coupled to the table. A rod is coupled between the piston and the handle. The user urges the handle downwardly toward the table. The user simultaneously stretches the spring biasing member and compresses the piston so the user is trained in the sport of arm wrestling.

  • Publication number: 20160048663
Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, an information handling system may include a processor and a basic input/output system (BIOS). The BIOS may comprise a program of instructions executable by the processor and configured to cause the processor to initialize one or more information handling resources of the information handling system. The BIOS may further be configured to, during a boot of an information handling system, and in response to a request to set a password associated with the information handling system, generate a random password, securely store the random password in a memory such that the password may be retrieved during a subsequent boot of the information handling system by a user physically present at the information handling system, and set the random password as the password associated with the information handling system.

  • Publication number: 20160048694
Abstract: An information handling system includes a trusted platform module (TPM) and a storage device, the TPM provides boot authentication for the information handling system such that, during a pre-boot phase, the TPM can access a platform configuration register (PCR). During a first instance of the pre-boot phase, the information handling system provides a public/private key pair including a public key and a private key, stores the private key to an encrypted storage of the TPM, seals the private key in the encrypted storage to the PCR, and stores the public key to the storage device. During an operating system phase that is after the first instance of the pre boot phase, the information handling system retrieves the public key from the storage device, encrypts transfer data using the public key, and stores the encrypted transfer data to the storage device.

  • Patent number: 9259659
Abstract: A toy figure, with an upper torso; a shoulder flange rotatably mounted on the upper torso; and an extendable arm pivotally mounted to the shoulder flange. The extendable arm may pivot with respect to both the shoulder flange and the upper torso to extend away from the upper torso, and includes an elbow that allows the extendable arm to straighten and bend. The toy figure includes an actuating mechanism disposed within the upper torso that forces the extendable arm to pivot and extend away from the upper torso. A tie rod may interconnect the shoulder flange to a portion of the extendable arm through the elbow so that so that pivotal movement of the arm around the shoulder flange causes the extendable arm to straighten.

  • Patent number: 9137244
Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a method may include generating a random number to be associated with an information handling resource. The method may also include generating a challenge string based at least on the random number. The method may additionally include encrypting the challenge string using a first shared secret. The method may further include receiving a one-time password generated by a vendor associated with the information handling resource, the one-time password generated by decrypting the challenge string using the first shared secret, parsing the random number from the decrypted challenge string, and digitally signing the decrypted challenge string with a digital signature using a second shared secret. The method may also include granting user access to the information handling resource in response to verifying, using the second shared secret, that the digital signature matches the random number.

  • Publication number: 20150253074
Abstract: A process for the recovery of ethane, ethylene, propane, propylene, and heavier hydrocarbon components from a hydrocarbon gas stream is disclosed. The stream is cooled and is thereafter expanded to the fractionation tower pressure and supplied to the fractionation tower at a lower mid-column feed position. A distillation stream is withdrawn from the column below the feed point of the stream and is then directed into heat exchange relation with the tower overhead vapor stream to cool the distillation stream and condense at least a part of it, forming a condensed stream. At least a portion of the condensed stream is directed to the fractionation tower at an upper mid-column feed position. A recycle stream is withdrawn from the tower overhead after it has been warmed and compressed. The compressed recycle stream is cooled sufficiently to substantially condense it, and is then expanded to the pressure of the fractionation tower and supplied to the tower at a top column feed position.

  • Patent number: 9125880
Abstract: Methods are provided for the synthesis of polymer conjugates of cytokines and receptor-binding antagonists thereof, especially a non-glycosylated interferon-beta, which conjugates retain unusually high biological potency. Preparation of polymer conjugates according to the methods of the present invention diminishes or avoids steric inhibition of receptor-ligand interactions that commonly results from the attachment of polymers to receptor-binding regions of cytokines, as well as to agonistic and antagonistic analogs thereof. The invention also provides conjugates and compositions produced by such methods. The conjugates of the present invention retain a high level of biological potency compared to those produced by traditional polymer coupling methods that are not targeted to avoid receptor-binding domains of cytokines.
