  • Publication number: 20080234441
Abstract: Bis(aminoalkyl)siloxane dimers or oligomers are prepared by a process utilizing hydrosilation of an olefinic amine with tetraorganodisiloxane or with bis(dialkylhydrogen)siloxane oligomers to generate high purity bis(aminoalkyl)disiloxane or bis(aminoalkyl)siloxane oligomers at high conversion yield, which may then be subsequently equilibrated to higher molecular weight bis(aminoalkyl)polysiloxanes.

  • Patent number: 7330821
Abstract: An integrated electronic commerce (e-commerce) based construction industry bidding and project management system and methods, including document distribution, supply chain automation and on-line auctioning. In a pre-construction setting, the e-commerce based bidding and project management system and method provides for a user the means for participating and competing in the bidding and construction project management tasks using on-line computerized telecommunications technologies. The on-line system and methodologies help the participants to achieve cost efficiencies and performance enhancements that traditional prior art manual bidding and construction management systems and methods have not achieved.

  • Patent number: 7156072
Abstract: An electronic valve actuation system and control method is described. The valve timing is changed between early and late intake valve closing depending on engine operating conditions. Further, valve timing is adjusted to control engine airflow or engine torque. Finally, air-fuel ratio is adjusted based on feedback from an exhaust gas oxygen sensor as well as an estimate of air, fuel, and residual exhausted from cylinders operating with late valve closing (after bottom dead center) timing.

  • Patent number: 6977588
Abstract: The invention is directed to improved automatic dispenser apparatus for dispensing sheet material and the like without contact between a user and the dispenser. Proximity detection apparatus is provided to detect the presence of a user in a detection zone generated outside the dispenser. Control apparatus controls actuation of the dispenser in response to the detected user. Preferred forms of the proximity detector include a sensor and a signal detection circuit operatively connected to the sensor. The sensor includes conductors configured to have a capacitance and positioned such that the capacitance is changed by the presence of a user within the detection zone. The signal detection circuit detects the change in capacitance and is provided with an oscillator having a frequency which is affected by the sensor capacitance and a differential frequency discriminator which detects changes in the oscillator frequency.

  • Patent number: 6534316
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for the simple, rapid, and selective colorimetric detection of carbohydrates, including fructose, glucose, sialic acid, and oligosaccharides. There is no need for any prior hydrolysis or other chemical modification or of the analytes. Resorcinarenes, xanthene dyes, and related compounds, formally produced by the reaction of 2 equivalents of resorcinol and a suitable electrophilic condensation partner, are used as chromophores or fluorophores for the detection of sugars and other carbohydrates.
