  • Publication number: 20080253618
Abstract: A method of processing vegetation data including the steps of identifying data relating to an agricultural field, segregating areas of predetermined development patterns and prescribing application rates of an agricultural compound. The identifying step includes identifying data relating to an agricultural field representative of areas of predetermined development patterns of vegetation in the field. The segregating step includes segregating the areas of the predetermined development patterns thereby defining segregated areas, other areas in the field being non-segregated areas. The prescribing step including prescribing application rates of an agricultural compound to the non-segregated areas dependent on at least one attribute determined from the data.

  • Publication number: 20080173032
Abstract: An evaporative cooler includes an arrangement of a combination of fluid components including flow control valves, spray bars, spray bar orifices, spray bar distribution channels, and distribution caps that produce a water application profile on the media that is adjusted to match the heat load introduced to the media by the air to be evaporatively cooled. The water evaporation rate is a direct function of this heat load profile. Applying water in this profile takes advantage of the wicking rate and flow through time constant of evaporative cooling media to effectively distribute the water through the media. This results in a once through system that allows the volume of water being applied be the lowered such that water not evaporated and exiting the media is limited and does so at very high cycles of concentration while maintaining high levels of cooling effectiveness and scale free media.

  • Publication number: 20080052687
Abstract: An environment and method for developing dataflow applications where a dataflow transformation is encapsulated into a dataflow graph expressed as a reusable map component using a host development language such as Java®, and the dataflow graphs are linked together via ports. A scalar map component performs a specific data transformation and a composite map component is built from a number of other map components typically representing a family of data transformations. Map components have interface and implementation properties which assist in developing customized, hierarchical data transformation logic. The ports are polymorphic and can be specific, generic, or composite data types, to allow linking of map components which compile to generate a dataflow pattern. A map component may employ dynamic logic where internal sub-graphs or links are added or properties changed based on information received from the compiler, such as port types, design properties, or static data transformation.

  • Patent number: 7333595
Abstract: A method provides customized voice mail settings feature information to a telecommunications service subscriber. The method includes customizing a list of persistent settings features to include multiple persistent settings features that relate to telecommunications services subscribed to by the telecommunications service subscriber. The persistent settings features are maintained in a defined state through more than one subscriber session. • Publication number: 20070284312
Abstract: A portable waste disposal system for cementuous slurry comprises a collapsible wire cage, a waterproof containment bag inside the wire cage and a filtration bag inside the waterproof containment bag. The system enables the cementuous slurry generated during the plastering of a swimming pool and pumped from inside a swimming pool to a location adjacent the pool be disposed of quickly and safely. The liquid generated during the process may be neutralized and left on site, thereby avoiding transport of such liquid.

  • Patent number: 7131639
Abstract: An evaporative cooler, including one or more media modules, distributes water from a source of water to each module through a constant flow valve. A distribution unit at each media module includes a spray bar for spraying water through a plurality of uniformly spaced holes having an aggregate area equivalent to or less than twenty five percent (25%) of the internal cross sectional area of the spray bar. A distribution cap distributes the streams of water to the underlying media module(s) and the water dripping from the media module(s) is drained. A fan or other air moving device draws air through the media module(s) to obtain cooled air resulting from evaporation of water flowing downwardly along the media module(s).

  • Patent number: 7070051
Abstract: A needle counter device which utilizes an adhesive disposed in one or more, preferably V-shaped, troughs. The adhesive provides instant, strong grip upon contact, but also provides very low resistance to needle penetration (i.e., it is easy to stick a needle in the adhesive, but difficult to pull the needle out). The device includes a base and a lid, and opens and closes much like a book. Once the device is closed, the device tends to remain closed unless intentionally opened. A thin layer of adhesive may be provided on the inside of the lid, to retain used surgical blades, and a piece of resilient foam may also be provided for temporarily “parking” a suture needle. The sides of each trough are lined with structure which serves to prevent an accidentally laid surgical instrument from unintentionally contacting the adhesive. Numerical indices provide a quick visual, counting assist.

A heat sink has a fan. A heat conducting block is inserted into the mobile computer to touch the heat sink of the internal cooling module of the computer and to absorb heat energy from the internal cooling module of the computer. The heat conduction connecting means is connected between one side of the heat conducting block and one side of the heat sink of the plug-in cooling device.

  • Patent number: 6928551
Abstract: A method and system is provided for selectively denying access to encoded data. Encryption is used to protect secured data on any of a number of media devices in a system and in which unsecured data is not encrypted. The classified data is encrypted and then transmitted for storage on the medium. The encryption key is stored only in volatile memory on the target device connected to the medium during a mission. The encryption key is known only in a location physically distant from the target device during a mission. Resources are provided for mission personnel to immediately delete the encryption key from volatile memory upon perceiving a threat, as well as causing automatic deletion of the encryption key upon a power loss to the target device in order to make the encrypted data unavailable to any personnel (whether authorized or not) at the location of the target device.

  • Patent number: 6924904
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to methods and systems for manipulating and combining files from different applications without the use of the files' originating applications. Application files are collected and converted to a page-format which preserves the visual aspects and page formatting of the application file. A composer application is then used to manipulate and reorganize the pages of the files as needed. Pages from files created by different applications may be compiled into a single document which can be printed or electronically transmitted without manual editing or delivery.

  • Patent number: 6893606
Abstract: A method and systems are provided for extracting heavy metal from glass waste. Glass is initially crushed to a diameter size between about 10 nanometers and about 2 millimeters. The glass is then added to a tank having a solution of water and acid, where the acid removes metal from the surface of the glass particles. In some embodiments, the solution and glass particles are elevated to a configurable temperature above ambient temperature and circulated for a configurable period of time. The solution is then separated from the glass particles. In some embodiments, the glass particles are then rinsed while in transit to a final destination or in a separate rinsing tank.

  • Patent number: 6879048
Abstract: A method of glass frit bonding wafers to form a package, in which the width of the glass bond line between the wafers is minimized to reduce package size. The method entails the use of a glass frit material containing a particulate filler material that establishes the stand-off distance between wafers, instead of relying on discrete structural features on one of the wafers dedicated to this function. In addition, the amount of glass frit material used to form the glass bond line between wafers is reduced to such levels as to reduce the width of the glass bond line, allowing the overall size of the package to be minimized. To accommodate the variability associated with screening processes when low volume lines of paste are printed, the invention further entails the use of storage regions defined by walls adjacent the glass bond line to accommodate excess glass frit material without significantly increasing the width of the bond line.
