  • Patent number: 7300098
Abstract: An access door for a rear storage compartment of a motorized tricycle. A motorized tricycle is provided having a rear storage compartment with a rearward facing access opening. An access door, when in a closed position, is positioned in a substantially vertical orientation in the access opening. A hinge assembly is provided having a door mounting secured to the access door and a body mounting secured to the motorized tricycle. At least one pivot linkage is positioned on each side of the access door extending between the door mounting and the body mounting. The pivot linkage accommodates movement of the access door from the closed position in the access opening to an open position with a bottom edge of the access door positioned above the access opening, while maintaining the access door in a substantially vertical orientation during pivotal movement.

  • Patent number: 7170617
Abstract: The present invention efficiently directs the flow of print jobs and efficiently controls the spooling and printing of print jobs. The multiplexer system analyzes jobs received from client systems through print channels. The multiplexer determines the attributes of the incoming job and the attributes associated with the print channel. If the attributes of the print job and the attributes of the print channel dictate an output path (either MUST PRINT or MUST SPOOL), then the multiplexer examines the state of the selected path. If the designated output path (printer or spooler) is busy, then the multiplexer decision is to signal a Stop_Flow to the print channel. The print channel is signaled to Start_Flow at a later time, when the output path becomes available. If the attributes of the print job and the attributes of the print channel do not dictate an output path, then the multiplexer examines a User Output Selection setting to control spooling and printing of print jobs.

  • Patent number: 7111056
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for controlling the call control, service control, and user interface functions of a legacy telephone system from a web application. The web application communicates with a legacy call server and controls the legacy call server. A web application also communicates with a legacy telephony device and controls the legacy telephony device. A communication channel may be provided between the web application and the legacy call server, and data transferred over the communication channel is translated to a form that each can understand. The data may be a call control command or a service control command. A communication channel may be provided between the web application and the legacy telephony device, and data transferred over the communication channel is translated to a form that each can understand. The data may be translated to a legacy telephony device data format, and to a web API data format.

  • Patent number: 7090596
Abstract: A device is disclosed which includes a base and a pair of substantially vertical members supported by the base. A horizontal member extends substantially horizontally between the vertical members. A first mechanism selectively adjusts the vertical position of the horizontal member, while a second mechanism selectively adjusts the horizontal position of the vertical members to define a first projectile target area. A target loop is mounted to the horizontal member within the first projectile target area and defines a second projectile target area. A third mechanism is provided for selectively adjusting the position of the target loop along the horizontal member between the vertical members. Finally, an arm extension attaches the target loop to the horizontal member and includes a fourth mechanism for variably adjusting the distance between the target loop and the horizontal member within the first projectile target area.

  • Publication number: 20050082762
Abstract: A device is disclosed for use by one or more individuals for practicing and playing a sporting activity requiring the use of a projectile. The device includes a base and a pair of substantially vertical members supported by the base. A horizontal member is associated with the vertical members and extends substantially horizontally therebetween. A first mechanism is provided for selectively adjusting the vertical position of the horizontal member relative to the vertical members. A second mechanism is also provided for selectively adjusting the horizontal position of the vertical members relative to the length of the horizontal member to define a first projectile target area for the throwing or kicking of a projectile therethrough by one of the individuals utilizing the device.

  • Publication number: 20050008003
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for enabling a web application to communicate with a legacy telephony device. A communication channel is provided between the web application and the call server. Data transferred over the communication channel is translated to a form each can understand. Data transferred to the telephony device may be translated to telephony device data format and data transferred to the web application may be translated to wrapper API data format. An abstraction may be used to represent the telephony device, or to represent a class of telephony devices with similar characteristics. Data transferred to the telephony device may be mapped to a telephony device resource. Access to the telephony device may be arbitrated, and data coming from the telephony device may be routed. A service plugin may be provided to interface with a web application. An execution environment may be provided for dynamically adding a service plugin.

  • Patent number: 6816280
Abstract: A page generation system that efficiently generates a page segment by clearing memory immediately after data representing the page segment is read from memory. The system generates a page in memory by writing the data representing the image content of the page to a memory block. The memory block is initially clear (all logical 0's) to enable the system to efficiently generate the page segment by writing the positive content of the page segment without having to write the blank sections of the page segment. By clearing memory immediately after data is read from memory, the page generator does not need to zero clear a memory block prior to constructing a page segment therein.

  • Patent number: 6804027
Abstract: Density calibration for a printer is achieved using a standard grey scale vignette master and a stored gray scale vignette image that the printer operator can invoke from the operator panel of a printer. The vignette image provides a precalibrated scale that is used in conjunction with the •standard• image to determine the proper optical density. The density is then set by the printer control panel based upon the value obtained by visually matching the two grey scale vignettes.

  • Patent number: 6459894
Abstract: A wireless communication system measures (602) a traffic load of ones of a plurality of fixed communication stations (102, 202) and transmits (606) from at least one of the stations information describing a location of the at least one of the stations and locations of nearby other stations, along with traffic loads corresponding to the stations. A portable communication unit (104) within communication range of the station conveys (608) the information, thereby assisting the user of the portable communication unit to find a fixed communication station having sufficient capacity available for handling a desired communication.

  • Publication number: 20020080389
Abstract: A Job Monitor for providing printer recognition and management of a print job entity is described. The Job Monitor includes a repository of attributes and status associated with each print job that passes through the system. Interfaces to the Job Monitor provide the ability for components to process a job according to the unique requirements of the processing component, and report job attributes and processing status of the job to the Job Monitor for common access by other components. Each component has access to common variables and can present job attributes or status to its respective external interface according to the unique requirements dictated by the external interface. Additionally, internal job processing components interface with the Job Monitor to access and report current processing status. The common status repository provided by the Job Monitor is used by the Job Monitor and other components to control the sequence of processing within the printer.

  • Patent number: 6397061
Abstract: A wireless communication device capable of communicating with a local wireless network within a predetermined communication range. If the wireless communication device experiences interference, a low battery or movement outside of the predetermined communication range, the wireless communication device checks to see if a bandwidth, a data rate or a priority can be altered to complete the communication between the wireless communication device and the wireless network.

  • Patent number: 6300885
Abstract: A data buffering/transformation system and method that compresses a received signal and stores the compressed received data signal in a data storage unit to conserve storage usage. The system decompresses the data signal prior to transmitting the signal. The received data signal may be an encoded data signal. In such a case, the system further decompresses the received data signal, decodes the signal, recompresses the signal, and stores the signal in the data storage unit. The system and method employs a combination compressor and first decompressor and a second decompressor so the system and method can simultaneously decompress a compressed received data signal and decompress a compressed decoded received data signal.

  • Patent number: 6250904
Abstract: Closed loop control apparatus and methods for reducing ripples in an extruded plastic sheet include, for example, a closed loop speed control system having a roll speed sensor, a roll speed controller, and a roll drive. The roll speed sensor is communicatively coupled to the active extruder roll and configured to determine an actual roll speed of the active extruder roll. The roll speed controller is communicatively coupled to the roll speed sensor and utilizes the actual roll speed and desired roll speed to generate a command signal and transmit such signal to the roll drive. The roll drive is communicatively coupled between the roll speed controller and the active extruder roll, and utilizes the command signal to drive the active extruder roll, through its controllers and power electronics.
