  • Patent number: 7492756
Abstract: A telecommunication system and method enables an end user to select communication services from a plurality of communication service networks providing different communication services. A telecommunication switch is connected to the service networks, and one or more local network terminals communicate with the switch through connections configured to carry communications for the different communication services provided by the service networks. A plurality of user devices, each configured to support a corresponding communication service, connect to the network terminal through a plurality of service ports. The network terminal configures the service ports for the respective user devices, and provides communications for a corresponding service to an activating user device in response to an activation of a service port by the activating user device. The telecommunication switch and/or the local network terminal may prioritize communications from particular service networks.

  • Publication number: 20070025332
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method regarding a switch or router (22) in a broadband network standard such as the Ethernet network standard. The switch or router (22) comprises an interface to for instance a category 3 or 5 infrastructure (12, 16) for distribution of data to flats and offices in premises. Whereby, a category infrastructure comprises four twisted wire pairs connected to every flat and office. Two pairs are utilized by the Ethernet standard. According to the invention a voice over Internet protocol box circuitry is collocated in said switch or router (22) hardware, serving every flat and office with telephony, and an interface (14, 18, 24) to the voice over Internet protocol box circuitry utilizes two of the wire pairs to provide two voice over Internet protocol subscription possibilities to every flat and office.

  • Publication number: 20070025378
Abstract: The invention relates to a switch or router (10) connected to and centrally situated adjacent to a voice over Internet protocol box (22) in a premise connected in a broadband network standard. It comprises an interface (14) to a category infrastructure for distribution of data to flats and offices in premises. The category infrastructure (12, 16) comprises four twisted wire pairs to every flat and office, whereby two pairs are utilized by the broadband standard. Voice over Internet is connected through a first cable interface (50) with multiple connections, and a second cable interface (60) connected and wired together in a registered jack (18, 52) with a category infrastructure. Two of the wire pairs (62) provide two voice over Internet protocol subscription possibilities to every flat and office and two of the broadband connections (64).

  • Publication number: 20060133351
Abstract: This invention regards an integrated access device (10) and a method therefore, comprising seamless PSTN to voice over Internet telephony. The access device (10) thus comprises a splitter (12, 32) having a filter filtering out data traffic from a digital subscriber line to the access device (10), allowing PSTN signals to pass through. It further comprises at least two ports (28) for connection of two telephone devices (38, 40), wiring the pair of wires (22) from one of the telephone ports to a pair of PSTN wires of a LAN port (26) receiving incoming PSTN and DSL signals, thus providing exclusion of rewiring in an external splitter (12) and that one of the telephone ports can be utilized booth for Internet voice and PSTN telephony.

  • Patent number: 7006486
Abstract: The present invention relates to a telecommunication system giving the option to a user (A1) to select desired services. A switched domain (5) for transmission of data packets has switches (SW1), to which service providers (1–4), and network terminals (NT1–NT7) are connected. The switches have a user port (Pf) through which one single physical connection is connected to an uplink port (Pe) in the network terminal (NT1). The user port (Pf) is configured for the different service providers (1–4) and the network terminals have corresponding service ports (Pc,Pd). The user (A1,8) or an operator (OP1) configures the service ports (Pc,Pd) which corresponds to the desired services (7,8). Using a policy server (PS1), which is connected to the network terminals (NT1) the traffic in these can be given priority. The data packets in the traffic which requires real time transmission, for example television (7), is given priority before data traffic on Intranet (8).

  • Patent number: 6873624
Abstract: The present invention relates to a telecommunication system enabling a user to select services. A telecommunication system having a switched domain comprising switches is disclosed. Service networks are connected to the switches and users are also connected to the switches using fines. An IP path selector and an operator are also connected to the switches. The operator forms service network groups by selecting among the service networks. The service network groups are allocated a virtual local network each by configuring the ports in the switches and the IP path selector. The users can select services by means of selecting one or several of the virtual local networks. By configuring their devices to their chosen virtual local network the user receives the services desired. The user can also change his selection of services by reconfiguring and thus connect to an alternative virtual local network.

  • Patent number: 6823395
Abstract: Apparatus, system and method for managing and monitoring the routing in a communications network is presented. The network includes a number of routing domains which in turn include a number of routing areas, each having a number of network nodes that intercommunicate using transmission links. A link state routing process is implemented in each of the routing areas. A link state database is maintained by each network node for each routing area to which the network node belongs. In addition, at least for some of the routing areas include a routing controlling device which belongs to the link state routing process of the respective area, and which maintains a link state database for the routing area that is identical to that which is maintained by the network nodes.

  • Patent number: 5213898
Abstract: Method for surface modifying substrates characterized in adsorbing on the surface of a solid substrate a polyamine of a high average molecular weight and cross-linking this with crotonaldehyde either simultaneously or by addition in separate steps to produce amino groups on the surface of the substrate, and optionally adsorbing one or several alternating layers of an anionic polysaccharide and of the said polyamine being cross-linked with crotonaldehyde, and optionally finally adsorbing the said polyamine, not cross-linked, to produce free primary amino groups by which chemical entities having a biological activity may be bound by covalent or ionic bonding.

  • Patent number: 4972706
Abstract: A flatness measuring device for rolled strip (5) according to the invention comprises a measuring roller over which the rolled strip passes. The measuring roller is divided into a number of roller sections (6). The forces on the roller sections are measured and can then be converted, via recalculations, into a measure of the flatness of the strip, whereby a flatness profile across the strip can be obtained. Special to the invention is the method of measuring the force. Between each roller section (6) there is a side member (ABC) which supports the shaft ends (7) of two adjacently positioned roller sections. The side member in principle consists of three beams (A, B, C) connected together in the form of a triangle. The beam A for all the side members is attached to a common plate (1). The first ends of the beams A and B connected together via a flexible diaphragm (2). At the second end of the beam B the shafts are journalled.
