Patent number: 12616795Abstract: A drug delivery device and a method of using the drug delivery device may include a housing having an opening and a drug storage container including a delivery member. The drug storage container may be coupled with the housing such as to substantially prevent relative movement between the drug storage container and the housing. A guard may be positioned adjacent to the opening and operably coupled with a plunger biasing member such that a relative movement between the guard and the housing permits release of the plunger biasing member to urge a plunger in to expel a drug from the drug storage container. A lock component may be configured to resist the relative movement between the guard and the housing until the lock component is released by a user force, whereafter the user force drives the housing and the drug storage container toward an injection site.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2020Date of Patent: May 5, 2026Assignee: AMGEN INC.Inventors: Emil Finkelstein, Soren Forbech Skall, Lars Eilertsen, Rasmus Øhlenschlæger, Joshua J. Dudman, Anders Grove Sund, Steve Sanchez

Patent number: 12611507Abstract: A syringe holder for a drug delivery device is provided. The syringe holder may include a proximal end, a distal end, and a hollow interior configured to receive at least a portion of a syringe. The syringe holder may further include a side opening distal to the proximal end and an outwardly extending protrusion proximal to the side opening. During assembly of the syringe holder into a housing of the drug delivery device the outwardly extending protrusion may be configured to support the syringe holder at a first axial position or an intermediate position with respect to a longitudinal axis of the housing of the drug delivery device. Also provided is a drug delivery device incorporating a syringe holder and a subassembly for a drug delivery device incorporating a syringe holder. A method of assembling a syringe holder into a housing of a drug delivery device is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2022Date of Patent: April 28, 2026Assignee: AMGEN INC.Inventors: Lars Eilertsen, Troels Pedersen, Kasper Hjortkjaer Nielsen, Jacob Lykke Jensen, Peter Werner Hansen

Publication number: 20260014324Abstract: A drug delivery device may include a housing having an opening and a drug storage container including a delivery member having an insertion end configured to extend at least partially through the opening during a delivery state. The device may also include a guard moveably positioned adjacent to the opening and a plunger having a generally cylindrical body portion extending along a longitudinal axis of the container and at least one flange extending radially outwardly from the body portion, wherein the plunger is moveable toward the distal end of the container to expel a drug through the delivery member. The device may further include a plunger biasing member configured to urge the plunger toward the distal end of the container and a releaser member defining a guide configured to receive the at least one flange and an indicator configured to generate an audible signal indicating an end of drug delivery.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 19, 2025Publication date: January 15, 2026Applicant: AMGEN INC.Inventors: Emil Finkelstein, Lars Eilertsen, Michael Sorensen, Tobias Maduro Norbo
