  • Publication number: 20070253827
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a fibre-reinforced blade for a wind energy plant is presented, which blade is configured with at least a blade shell and means for conducting to a lightning current to an earth connection. Novel aspects of the method comprise that the blade is provided with segmented conductor means that are configured for conducting a lightning current outside the blade to the means for conducting to earth; and wherein the conductor means are distributed and secured at the external surface of the blade shell in such a manner that the conductor means are essentially flush with the external surface of the blade shell. When the segmented conductor means are distributed and attached at the external surface of the blade shell, the lightning current will not have to be conducted through the conductor means, but rather they are conducted in a ionised passage in the air above the conductor means.

  • Publication number: 20070183464
Abstract: The invention relates to an article comprising a length of an optical fibre and a package, the optical fibre comprising a fibre Bragg grating dispersed over a FBG-section of the length of the optical fibre, the package comprising a carrier with a carrier surface for supporting at least a supported part of the optical fibre including the FBG-section. The invention further relates to an apparatus comprising the article, to its use and to a method of manufacturing such an article. The object of the present invention is to seek to provide an optimized (e.g. elongate) package having a relatively low sensitivity to mechanical vibrations from the environment. This is achieved by providing that the carrier surface for supporting the optical fibre comprising a fibre Bragg grating is convex in a longitudinal direction of the optical fibre during use of the article.

  • Publication number: 20070160028
Abstract: A communication terminal for Internet telephony is provided that handles and control communication of data in accordance with a standardized network protocol and exchanges data with a connecting unit connected to the Internet where the resulting data exchanged between the terminal and a connecting unit consist of packets in a standardized protocol data packet format embedded in a wireless format. This provides a communications terminal which uses a network or the Internet for the transfer of digitized speech, etc., thereby achieving great economic savings. Also, the flexibility is increased with respect to wireless communication with the network or the Internet without any need for specialized equipment and functionality.

  • Publication number: 20070009361
Abstract: A wind turbine rotor including a rotor hub (3) and a plurality of blades (4), and where each blade root (16) is connected to said rotor hub through a pitch bearing (5) in such a manner that the pitch angle of the blade is adjustable by a turning of the blade about its longitudinal axis relative to the rotor hub. The blade is provided with at least one electrically conducting lightening down-conductor (6) extending in the longitudinal direction of the blade to the blade root and being electrically isolated from the pitch bearing (5). A spark gap (15) is provided between the lightning down-conductor and the rotor hub, said spark gap (15) being adapted to conduct a lightning current passing through the lightning down-conductor.

  • Publication number: 20060280613
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of lightning-proofing a blade (1) on a wind-energy plant, which blade comprises a blade shell (2) configured essentially as a fibre-reinforced laminate, which laminate comprises electrically conductive fibres, wherein the blade comprises at least one lightning arrester (9) configured for conducting lightning current, including preferably to ground. The method comprises that the electrically conductive fibres are connected to each other, and that at least one metallic receptor (4, 24, 25) is arranged for capturing lightning current at or in proximity of the external face of the blade; and that the receptor and the fibres are connected to the lightning arrester for equalising the difference in potential between the lightning arrester and the electrically conductive fibres. When the electrically conductive fibres are connected to each other, the fibres will cooperate on the conduction of a possible lightning current to prevent the current from running in individual fibres.

  • Patent number: 7103018
Abstract: A communication terminal initiates a Wireless Session Protocol (WSP) session by forwarding a request of data to a server. The request comprises an identification of the requested data and a communication terminal identification number provided by the server. The server. when receiving a request containing a communication terminal identification number, recalls user profile information from an associated database memory corresponding to said communication terminal identification number. The user profile information indicates a data format which will be handled by the communication terminal. Then the server replies to the request by forwarding the requested data in the format defined by the user profile information.

  • Patent number: 7011778
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an installation for producing growth substrate blocks, particularly for blocks for cuttings for horticultural use, where loose substrate material is compacted in a forming chamber (18) and thus forms useable block bodies. With the present invention a compulsory moistening of the blocks with suitably heated water is performed, after which these are made ready for use almost immediately, so that an actual conditioning no longer is necessary or can be reduced considerably. The blocks can be moistened and heated from the inside to a desired temperature in a both quick and energy saving way. The moistener, which preferably is water, can contain various additives such as nutrients or the like.
