  • Patent number: 6014563
Abstract: To implement a radio system (PRS) for a closed user group by simple means and at low cost, a device (MONE) is proposed which connects at least one commercially available base station (BTS1, BTS2) to a telecommunication network (PSTN) via standard interfaces (PCM30, Abis). The device comprises a subscriber data base (ID) and means (MM) for checking whether a transmitted subscriber identification (IMSI) authorizes a subscriber to access the radio system (PRS). The device further controls the establishment and release of calls (CC) and performs radio resource management functions (RR). A radiotelephone (MS) authorized to access the radio system (PRS) is connected to the nearest base station (BTS1) at least for the duration of the call.

  • Patent number: 5864125
Abstract: Universal data input card which loads the data of a destination point and the route into the navigation device. The card can be produced completely by printing and can be published in any printed product. On the card is a picture field (3) to locate a photo and text field (4) for locating text information, miniature map segments (2) which contain the route information and a bar-code (1) which provides the coordinates of the destination points. The card of the selected destination point is simply inserted into a card input slot (7) of a GPS device which is built together with an optoelectronic card reader. The device then navigates the driver to the destination point by means of the information shown on a display (6) which can be accompanied by additional voice information. The purpose of introducing the system which operates with a printed card is to spread GPS technology into everyday use for the public.

  • Patent number: 5592469
Abstract: A radio system, particularly a mobile radio system (MRS) is proposed, which has radio interfaces (COMa) with variable parameters (Ta, Fa), which are predetermined and changed by the base station BS. The parameters are computed in the base station on the basis of a requested transmission capacity (CAPr) desired by a remote radio station (MSa), and on the basis of the determination of free transmission capacities (CAPl) within a specified frequency range. The parameters (Ta, Fa) for adjusting the transceivers in the base station and in the remote radio stations are predetermined in such a way, that the desired transmission capacity occupies the fewest possible of the free transmission capacities. An efficient utilization of the frequency spectrum is achieved, where the radio transmission continuously adapts to the capacity requirements of the mobile stations.
