  • Patent number: 4567450
Abstract: The fin-line oscillator includes a packaged diode as an active element and an impedance-matching network for matching the diode to a load and determining the frequency. In a first embodiment, the diode package (5) is mounted in a cutoff waveguide (4) connected with the waveguide (1) containing the fin line. The fins (2) of the fin line extend a given distance into the cutoff waveguide. In further embodiments, the diode package is mounted in or on the substrate on which the fins of the fin line are deposited.

  • Patent number: 4541120
Abstract: The transmitter-receiver module includes a four-terminal coupler (2). An oscillator (1) and two diodes (4, 4') are connected to three of the terminals, while the fourth is connectable to an antenna (3). The diodes are used as a modulator during transmit, and as a mixer during receive. When transmitting, the oscillator is used as a signal source, and when receiving, it is used as a local oscillator. The module is implemented using fin-line technology. Several ways of realizing the oscillator are given.

  • Patent number: 4538122
Abstract: The oscillator includes a two-terminal device (1) as an active element and an impedance-matching network (4) for matching the two-terminal device to a load (A). The impedance-matching network is formed by a coupler (4) having four terminals (2, 3, 7, 8) two of which (7, 8) are terminated with impedances (5, 6) whose values are chosen depending on the output power or frequency to be adjusted or are varied as desired. Another of the terminals is connected to the active two-terminal device (1), and the fourth terminal (3) is the oscillator output.

  • Patent number: 4519544
Abstract: A sprinkler system characterized by a tubular, substantially square base assembly, and two tubular arm assemblies pivotally coupled to the base assembly. The base assembly is provided with a female coupling receptive to the end of a garden hose such that the base assembly can be pressurized with water. The tubular arm assemblies receive water from the base assembly and are provided with a plurality of sprinkler heads for directing the water as desired by the user. Preferably, the arm assemblies telescope so that their lengths can be varied.

  • Patent number: 4200307
Abstract: A mount for attaching a suspension assembly to the rim zone of an aperture in the vehicle body has an outer flange which forms part of an antivibration unit to which the upper end of a shock absorber piston rod and a spring seat disc--forming part of the suspension assembly--are secured. The outer flange is tightened from below to the rim zone of the aperture by securing screws. The outer flange has an elongated, at least approximately oval-shaped outline and further, the outline of the aperture is of substantially lesser dimension than the length dimension of the elongated outer flange. The aperture has, at least in one direction, a diametral dimension that is slightly greater than the width dimension of the elongated outer flange. The diameter of the spring seat disc is sufficiently small to permit upward removal of the antivibration unit and the spring seat disc after removal of the securing screws and upon tilting the antivibration unit about a transverse axis thereof.

  • Patent number: 4173484
Abstract: A mixture is prepared from quartz sand, dolomite and/or limestone, sodium carbonate and/or cryolite and having a composition of from about 30 to about 60% SiO.sub.2, from 0 to about 5% Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 from 0 to about 2% FeO+Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, from about 5 to about 30% MgO, from about 20 to about 40% CaO, and from about 2 to about 10% Na.sub.2 O and/or K.sub.2 O. Within the above limits the ratio of the components can vary within the following ranges: SiO.sub.2 /CaO=1.6-2.25, SiO.sub.2 /MgO=2.8-5.7, CaO/MgO=1.5-3.4, SiO.sub.2 +MgO=2.8-5.7, SiO.sub.2 /CaO+MgO=1-1.42.The foregoing mixture is melted between 1,250.degree. and 1,400.degree. C., then it is allowed to stand, depending on the mass and the casting form used, for a period of 1-4 hours. The melt is cooled in the casting forms between 1,250.degree. and 1,050.degree. C. for a period of 0.5 to 1.

  • Patent number: 3964971
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for increasing the vitamin B.sub.12 production of fermentation processes performed in a known way with a mixed population of mesophilic methane-producing bacteria under anaerobic conditions. According to the invention in an enrichment period of preferably 4 to 7 days a nutrient concentrate containing mainly inorganic ammonium compounds as nitrogen source and mainly methanol as carbon source and having a N:C weight ratio of 1:10 to 1:20, preferably 1:11 to 1:15 is added in daily portions to a fermentation broth obtained from a usual vitamin B.sub.12 fermentation process and containing living bacterium populations so as to increase the total concentration of assimilable nitrogen by a factor of maximum 4 until the end of the enrichment period, and thereafter the fermentation is terminated and the obtained fermentation broth with an increased vitamin B.sub.
