  • Patent number: 6829456
Abstract: A printer calibration system and method enables images to be properly aligned over a printable medium in printing systems that use (i) one or more non-ideally shaped image transfer elements and/or (ii) when the one or more image transfer elements behave eccentrically. The systems and methods greatly improve color plane registration and correct for repetitive alignment problems associated with image transfer elements. Non-circularity imperfections associated with image transfer elements are determined. Then the image transfer elements are moved at a non-constant angular velocity to compensate for the circular imperfections.

  • Patent number: 6785142
Abstract: A system and method for detecting blank modules includes an information handling system including at least one computing component, a modular chassis, a management module, and one or more sensors. The modular chassis includes one or more slots where each slot is operable to receive either the computing module or a blank module. The computing module interfaces with the management module whereby the management module is operable to detect the presence of one or more of the computing modules in one or more of the slots. The sensors are associated with each of the slots and detect if one or more of the blank modules are installed in one or more of the slots. In addition, the sensors provide an indication to a user when one or more of the slots are empty and do contain neither a computing module or a blank module.

  • Patent number: 6762932
Abstract: A method and system for mounting an information handling system disk drive with one or more storage disk drives coupled to an information handling system circuit board so that components of the information handling system are disposed in the space between the storage disk drive and the circuit board. In one embodiment, a server blade mounts plural hard disk drives to a motherboard with tool-less shoulder screws that elevate the hard disk drives relative to the motherboard to allow space for interfacing components, such as a bridge chip and video chip, with the motherboard below the hard disk drive. Cooling air flows through the space between the motherboard and the hard disk drives to cool plural processors interfaced with the motherboard.

  • Publication number: 20040032605
Abstract: Patterns of use with respect to a peripheral device to optimize future user and application interactions with the device are monitored. Specifically, a pattern of use is identified and recorded with respect to the peripheral device. User action is detected that corresponds to the pattern of use; the action indicates a potential use of the peripheral device that is independent of an actual use of the peripheral device. Responsive to detecting the action, the peripheral device is readied for use, for example, by causing the device to warm up and/or perform a calibration cycle.
