  • Publication number: 20230143509
Abstract: A method that enables handling whole blood for assays where the whole blood is directly taken from a patient without any prior treatment and being put in a collection tube or other container ready to use for further analysis. The method can enable simple processing of the whole blood while avoiding any clots or aggregates and without damaging white cells in a reproducible and automatable way. The method can furthermore enable an automatic and reproducible pipetting of whole blood cells inside several wells to be tested.

  • Patent number: 9626180
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for performing a live update of an operating system. The mechanisms receive an update to an operating system and clone a root volume group associated with an operating system instance executing in a first logical partition of the data processing system to generate a cloned root volume group. The mechanisms apply the update to the cloned root volume group to generate an updated and cloned root volume group and boot a second logical partition of the data processing system using the updated and cloned root volume group. • Patent number: 8578214
Abstract: When moving workload partitions (WPARs) from machine to machine, operating systems may encounter errors that prevent successful WPAR migration. Recording and reporting errors can be challenging. To move WPARs, the operating system may employ a plurality of software components, such as code residing in user space (e.g., application programs, OS libraries, and shell scripts), code residing in the operating system's kernel, and code residing on remote machines. Embodiments of the invention include a framework that enables all the software components to record errors. The framework can also report the errors to users and processes.

  • Patent number: 7904886
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for dynamic insertion of a computer code processing within a running computer task in a transparent fashion for this target task. It also relates to a method using such a dynamic insertion in order to execute a multi-task application in a virtual container forming a virtualized environment session. This method comprises the following steps of storing by a manager task of a hooking datum representing the code processing to be inserted; executing, within the execution of a system routine called by the target task, a hooking instruction initiating a test of the hooking datum; and executing the inserted code, according to the result of said test and instead of the program instruction following the hooking instruction in the execution of said system routine.

  • Patent number: 7725763
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for replicating a software application in a multi-computer architecture (cluster). The software application is executed on a first computer of the cluster, which represents a primary or operation node, and is replicated on at least one other computer of the cluster, which represents a secondary node, including replication of the resources associated with the software application. The method includes streamlined updating of the replicated resources via a dynamic introspection mechanism supplying the structure of the application that is to be replicated and the dynamic graph of the implemented resources and dependencies.

  • Patent number: 7577720
Abstract: A method for carrying out a connection migration in a multicomputing architecture (cluster), from a first node which is called a primary node or operation node, including a first computer of the cluster on which an initial software application is run, towards at lest one secondary node including another computer of the cluster. The method implements a virtual network address which is carried by the first computer and transferred to the other computer, the virtual network address being embodied in the form of a dialogue link between the cluster and client computers connected thereto and associated with the software application. The associated connections can, for example be associated with a software application which is replicated in another computer in such a way that the initial application service is switched to the replica thereof.

  • Publication number: 20080150744
Abstract: A position sensor includes at least two detection cells which are separated according to the direction of relative displacement between a generator element and cells of a given value such that a cell detects at least one first magnetic transition of the generator element in order to obtain a logic signal with at least one commutation front corresponding to the determined position of a first variation front. The other cell detects at least a second magnetic transition of the generator element in order to obtain a logical signal with at least one commutation front corresponding to the determined position of the second variation front. Treatment means combine electric signals of the detection cells in order to obtain an electric logic signal corresponding to an electric reference signal.
