  • Patent number: 7930572
Abstract: A processing system includes a processor (20) having an idle mode node for generating an idle mode signal indicating whether the processor is in an idle mode and a memory (22) having a data retention node for receiving a data retention mode signal. The memory includes circuitry for placing the memory in a low power state responsive to the data retention mode signal. The idle mode signal drives the data retention node, such that the memory is placed in the low power state when the processor is in idle mode.

  • Patent number: 7924722
Abstract: Each network node having at least one destination-oriented link toward a directed acyclic graph (DAG) destination can receive a corresponding set of path performance metrics via the destination-oriented link. The set of path performance metrics, initiated by the DAG destination outputting initial link metrics on each of its source-connecting links, identifies aggregate link metrics for a corresponding path to the DAG destination via the corresponding destination-oriented link. The network node outputs a corresponding updated set of path performance metrics on each of its source-connecting links based on the received set of path performance metrics and the corresponding link metric for the corresponding source-connecting link. Hence, each network node in the DAG can assess the performance of each connected path to the DAG destination, and forward a data packet via a selected destination-oriented link based on the corresponding path performance metrics and forwarding policies for the forwarded data packet.

  • Publication number: 20100315211
Abstract: A tactile input to a system having a speaker located in an enclosure with an audio port can be detected by generating a sound wave in response to a signal and sensing the phase relationship between the current phase and the voltage phase of the signal. While the audio port is open a baseline current and voltage phase difference is established. When the audio port is obstructed by a finger touch, the current and voltage phase difference is altered in response to the obstruction. While the altered phase difference is detected, a tactile event is indicated.

  • Patent number: 7822011
Abstract: Synchronization of downlink streaming data is performed by estimating the likelihood of an underflow or an overflow in an output buffer upon receipt of each encoded data frame to determine if synchronization will be needed. After each encoded data frame is decoded it is then synchronized if the estimate indicated synchronization would be needed. Synchronization of uplink steaming data is performed by estimating the likelihood of an underflow or an overflow in an input buffer upon sending of each encoded data frame to an output modem for transmission to determine if synchronization will be needed. If needed, synchronization will be performed later on a portion of data samples taken from the input buffer that are used to form a frame of un-encoded data samples.

  • Publication number: 20100191788
Abstract: A digital system has a memory configured to hold operands and a multiply-shift unit coupled to the memory and configured to receive a first operand and a second operand from the memory in parallel, wherein the first operand includes a concatenated encoded shift amount. The multiply-shift unit includes a multiplier configured to receive the first operand after being separated from the concatenated encoded shift amount and to form a quotient from the two operands. A shifter is coupled to receive the quotient and to shift the quotient by an amount indicated by the encoded shift amount and to thereby form a shifted quotient on an output of the multiply-shift unit.

  • Publication number: 20100046772
Abstract: A system and method for controlling a sound level of a mobile audio device are disclosed herein. In accordance with at least some embodiments, a system includes a transducer, a phase estimator, and a sound level control. The transducer converts an electrical signal applied to the transducer into audible sound. The phase estimator estimates a phase difference between a voltage and a current of the electrical signal applied to the transducer. The sound level control controls the loudness of sound produced by the transducer based, at least in part on the estimated phase difference.

  • Publication number: 20090323698
Abstract: The embodiments described herein present methods and apparatuses for on-path CAC operations in a MPLS-VPN environment. In an example embodiment, an ingress PE device receives a quality of service (QoS) resource reservation request; constructs an outgoing message that includes information allowing an egress PE device to identify the virtual private network routing and forwarding table (VRF) associated with a resource reservation resulting from the QoS resource reservation request; and transmits the outgoing message to the egress PE device, where the information allowing VRF identification is echoed back by the egress PE device and used by the ingress PE device to identify the VRF associated with the resource reservation resulting from the QoS resource reservation request. Other embodiments are described.

  • Publication number: 20090088224
Abstract: A system comprising processing logic and sound-capturing logic coupled to the processing logic. The sound-capturing logic provides a captured signal to the processing logic. The captured signal is associated with a property. Transceiver logic is coupled to the processing logic. The transceiver logic provides a received signal to the processing logic. The received signal is associated with a volume. Using a compression technique, the processing logic adjusts the volume in accordance with the property.

  • Publication number: 20080247568
Abstract: A system comprising audio logic adapted to convert captured sound into an audio signal. The system also comprises transmission logic which causes noise to be added to the audio signal. The system further comprises processing logic adapted to at least partially remove the noise from the audio signal by subtracting a noise waveform from the audio signal to produce a result signal. The processing logic generates the noise waveform using power level information associated with the transmission logic. The transmission logic transmits the result signal to another electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20080182545
Abstract: In at least some disclosed embodiments, a wireless electronic system includes a decoder module coupled to a processor. The decoder module is configured to send a signal to the processor based on a less than completely acquired burst of data. The less than completely acquired burst of data is part of a complete burst of data, and the complete burst of data is contiguous. The processor causes a reduction in power consumption of the wireless electronic system based on the signal.

  • Publication number: 20070121926
Abstract: A system for canceling echo in a telephonic device includes an adaptive IR filter and a non-adaptive IR filter. The adaptive filter modifies its weights according to a first echo modified signal which mixes the near end signal with the output of the adaptive filter. A portion of these weights are used to detect either a single talk state or a double talk state. During single talk states, the output of the adaptive filter mixed with the near end signal will be used as the uplink signal. In double talk situations, the non-adaptive IR filter, which receives its weights from the adaptive filter during single talk situations, will be mixed with the near end signal to produce the uplink signal.

  • Patent number: 6965069
Abstract: A digital system and method of operation is provided in which musical notes and melodies are synthesized. The operation done for music synthesis is based on time domain processing of prerecorded waveforms, referred to as analysis waveforms. The computations are done using time-marks, which is a set of digital sample positions of the analysis waveform indicating the starting position of each period of the fundamental frequency or an arbitrary position for non-periodic analysis waveforms. The algorithm defines on a time scale the time-marks of the synthesis waveform. The synthesis is based on making a relation between the analysis time-marks and the synthesis time-marks. The synthesis waveforms are built with the extraction of small portions of signal located at corresponding time-mark positions of the analysis waveform and adding them to the corresponding synthesis time-marks on the synthesis time-scale.
