  • Publication number: 20050144494
Abstract: A processing system includes a processor (20) having an idle mode node for generating an idle mode signal indicating whether the processor is in an idle mode and a memory (22) having a data retention node for receiving a data retention mode signal. The memory includes circuitry for placing the memory in a low power state responsive to the data retention mode signal. The idle mode signal drives the data retention node, such that the memory is placed in the low power state when the processor is in idle mode.

  • Patent number: 6704582
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are presented to allow the creation of a personalized audio signal for a communication device., An option to record audio input and create a call signal audio file is selected via an input mechanism (203). Audio input is recorded when a record button (204) is pressed and the recording is terminated when the record button (204) is pressed a second time. Processing circuitry (220) optionally applies audio compression, filtering and encoding algorithms to said audio input and creates a call signal audio file. The call signal audio file is then stored in the memory circuitry designated for call signal audio files (210). Additional audio output circuitry (207) plays the call signal audio file when an incoming call is detected by the transceiver (201).

  • Publication number: 20020177997
Abstract: A digital system and method of operation is provided in which musical notes and melodies are synthesized. The operation done for music synthesis is based on time domain processing of prerecorded waveforms, referred to as analysis waveforms. The computations are done using time-marks, which is a set of digital sample positions of the analysis waveform indicating the starting position of each period of the fundamental frequency or an arbitrary position for non-periodic analysis waveforms. The algorithm defines on a time scale the time-marks of the synthesis waveform. The synthesis is based on making a relation between the analysis time-marks and the synthesis time-marks. The synthesis waveforms are built with the extraction of small portions of signal located at corresponding time-mark positions of the analysis waveform and adding them to the corresponding synthesis time-marks on the synthesis time-scale.

  • Publication number: 20020107049
Abstract: A mobile communications device (10) stores a database of telephone numbers (40), with one or more of the telephone numbers associated with respective audio files in an audio file database (44) and voice templates in a voice template database (42). Processing circuitry (30) implements voice activated dialing where one of the telephone numbers in the telephone number database (40) is dialed in response to identifying a match between an audio input from a user and one of templates in the voice template database (42). An audio file from the audio file database is played in response to a match. The processing circuitry (30) further detects originating telephone number associated with incoming telephone calls and, if the originating telephone number is associated with an audio file, plays the associated audio file from the same audio file database used for the voice activated dialing.
