  • Publication number: 20170280777
Abstract: A vaporizing assembly for an aerosol-generating system may comprise a delivery device and a heater assembly. The heater assembly may comprise a heat resistive substrate and a heating element. The delivery device is configured to deliver an aerosol-forming substrate to at least a surface of the heat resistive substrate, wherein the heating element is isolated or separated from the aerosol-forming substrate by the heat resistive substrate. The present disclosure is also directed to a method for generating an aerosol.

  • Publication number: 20170280775
Abstract: An atomizing assembly includes a tubing section having an inlet end and an outlet end. The inlet end of the tubing section is connectable to a liquid storage portion, and the outlet end of the tubing section is in fluid communication with an atomizing nozzle. The tubing section is configured to deliver a flow of liquid aerosol-forming substrate through the atomizing nozzle. The atomizing nozzle includes an air channel configured to establish an air flow through the nozzle. The air flow is mixed with the flow of liquid aerosol-forming substrate.

  • Publication number: 20150313279
Abstract: There is provided a portable extinguisher for extinguishing a single smoking article at a time. The extinguisher includes an outer vessel, an inner sleeve, an opening, and a lid. The opening is sized to receive a single smoking article into the inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is within the outer vessel and is at least partially separated from the outer vessel. The inner sleeve includes at least one aperture allowing fluid communication between the inner sleeve and the outer vessel. The lid is for closing the extinguisher. When the lid is closed, escape of fluid from the extinguisher is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20150020832
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an electrical system including a primary device and secondary device. The primary device includes: a source of electrical power; a cavity configured to receive the secondary device; at least one electrical contact within the cavity configured to contact a corresponding contact on the secondary device when the secondary device is in the cavity, the at least one electrical contact being electrically connected to the source of electrical power; and at least one data contact configured to transfer data between the primary device and the secondary device; wherein, the secondary device is keyed to the cavity of the primary device. The secondary device may be an aerosol-generating device, and the primary device may be a charging device for charging the aerosol-generating device. The secondary device may have a polygonal cross-sectional shape.

  • Publication number: 20140366900
Abstract: There is provided an elongate aerosol-generating device having at least a portion of its transverse external cross-section defined by a shape having at least five sides. The shape may be polygonal. The cross-sectional shape of the device confers stability against rolling. The elongate aerosol-generating device includes a substrate receiving cavity configured to receive an aerosol-forming substrate to form an aerosol, a heating element, and a power supply configured to provide power to the heating element. The external shape of the aerosol-generating device may be defined by a housing having at least two separable portions. The external shape may be defined by a polygon having convexly curved faces to minimise perceived misalignments between adjacent housing portions.
