  • Patent number: 9482429
Abstract: A field-ready oven has reinforced telescoped side walls that extend and hold a base, shelf, tray support and cover spaced apart. A low air intake and a semipermeable membrane deliver air and vapor fuel to catalyst pads on the shelf. Radiant heat from exothermic reaction is diffused over a bottom of a tray. Hot gas circulates around the diffuser and tray with a chimney effect before exhausting. A lid on the cover lifts for access to the tray. A fuel container in the oven forces fuel through a capillary restriction to limit fuel flow. A spring in the container is released to start fuel flow.

  • Patent number: 9479515
Abstract: An apparatus, method, and system are provided for determining a location of an error source. Equalization coefficients may be retrieved and an average period of time between localized peak amplitudes may be determined. The average period of time may be multiplied by a velocity of propagation associated with a communication channel to determine an approximate location of the error source. The equalization coefficients may correspond to the inverse of the frequency response associated with the communication channel and may be updated over time using replacement or combination (e.g., convolution) techniques.

  • Patent number: 9473613
Abstract: A wired network may be used to carry signals for a wireless network, in a frequency-shifted manner, to extend the range of the wireless network. A wired network may detect signal interference emanating from a wireless service provider, and received through a leak in the wired network's infrastructure. Devices may be installed or leveraged in the vicinity of the interference to extend the wireless service to geographic areas that may have poor reception. The devices may amplify wireless downstream signals and transmit them wirelessly, and may receive upstream wireless communications and transmit them upstream in the wired network's protocol.

  • Patent number: 9473736
Abstract: In response to receiving from a subscriber both a request to record content and a unique requester key, a network DVR identifies an asset associated with the request. The network DVR segments the asset in to a series of segments, assigns a mediaword to each segment for compression, encrypts each of the segments using an encryption key, and records the encrypted asset segments in an encrypted dictionary storage as definitions, i.e., dictionary entries. The encrypted key and the mediaword are forwarded to a requester handler flow in the network DVR that generates requester-specific encrypted copies using the requester key received from the subscriber. The mediaword, encrypted encryption key, and the encrypted asset segments are stored in and retrievable for the corresponding requester.

  • Patent number: 9444719
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for detecting and locating ingress of an over-the-air signal into a wired communications network. Computing devices located in a plurality of different areas may be configured to identify amplitude of signals transmitted over the wired communications network as it varies by signal frequency. In one embodiment, the system may determine expected amplitude of the over-the-air signal at the plurality of different areas. In other embodiments, the system may identify amplitudes received over the wired communication path at the computing devices. The system may determine a location at which the over-the-air signal has entered the wired communications network based on a comparison of the identified and expected amplitudes of the over-the-wire signal.

  • Patent number: 9437327
Abstract: Embodiments include a combined rank and linear memory address incrementing utility. An aspect includes an address incrementing utility suitable for implementation within a memory controller as an integrated subsystem of a central processing unit (CPU) chip. In this type of on-chip embodiment, the address incrementing utility utilizes dedicated hardware, chip-resident firmware, and one or more memory address configuration maps to enhance processing speed, efficiency and accuracy. The combined rank and linear memory address incrementing utility is designed to efficiently increment through all of the individual bit addresses for a large logical memory space divided into a number of ranks on a rank-by-rank basis. The address incrementing utility sequentially generates all of the sequential memory addresses for a selected rank, and then moves to the next rank and sequentially generates all of the memory addresses for that rank, and so forth until of the ranks have been processed.

  • Patent number: 9419372
Abstract: A vented set screw is used to secure a connection between an implantable medical device and an implantable lead. The vented set screw includes one or more venting channels that allow liquid and/or gas to flow out of the implantable medical device when the implantable lead is being inserted into the implantable medical device and secured during an implantation procedure. This prevents pressure from building up at the connection, thereby ensuring proper performance of sensing and/or therapy delivery functions of the implantable medical device.
