  • Publication number: 20170095214
Abstract: Examples of systems, apparatuses, and methods for determining whether CPR is being conducted based on an impedance signal are described. An example system may include a defibrillator including a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) analyzer configured to detect an impedance signal between electrodes applied to a chest of a patient. The CPR analyzer may be further configured to transform the impedance signal to a frequency domain representation to provide transformed frequency data, and to detect peaks within the transformed frequency data. The CPR analyzer may be further configured to classify the impedance signal as one of CPR or no CPR based on the detected peaks. The CPR analyzer may be further configured to determine a chest compression rate based on the detected peaks.

  • Publication number: 20170094661
Abstract: A wired network may be used to carry signals for a wireless network, in a frequency-shifted manner, to extend the range of the wireless network. A wired network may detect signal interference emanating from a wireless service provider, and received through a leak in the wired network's infrastructure. Devices may be installed or leveraged in the vicinity of the interference to extend the wireless service to geographic areas that may have poor reception. The devices may amplify wireless downstream signals and transmit them wirelessly, and may receive upstream wireless communications and transmit them upstream in the wired network's protocol.

  • Publication number: 20170086868
Abstract: A dilation system includes a balloon catheter and a puncturing assembly. The balloon catheter includes a shaft, a dilator coupled to a distal end of the shaft, and a lumen extending through the shaft and the dilator. The dilator is expandable from a collapsed state to an expanded state. The puncturing assembly includes at least one cutting member. The puncturing assembly is positionable within the lumen of the balloon catheter or along an exterior of the shaft when the puncturing assembly is in a first position. The puncturing assembly transitions to a second position to puncture the lumen of the balloon catheter and/or to puncture the dilator, to thereby drain fluid from the dilator.

  • Patent number: 9602518
Abstract: An apparatus, method, computer readable medium, and system are provided to generate a symbol placement associated with a transmission scheme by transforming a retrieved set of equalization coefficients. Symbols included in the symbol placement may be analyzed and quantified in terms of their distance from a decision boundary. Symbols may be synthesized on an iterative basis in order to obtain visibility into the underlying performance of the transmission scheme over time. If equalization is unable to reduce a signal impairment below a threshold value within a predetermined amount of time, then a determination may be made that a non-linear distortion source is present in a network or communication system. Signals received from a plurality of user terminals may be compared with one another in order to determine a probable location or cause of the non-linear distortion.

  • Publication number: 20170049266
Abstract: A field-ready oven has reinforced telescoped side walls that extend and hold a base, shelf, tray support and cover spaced apart. A low air intake and a semipermeable membrane deliver air and vapor fuel to catalyst pads on the shelf. Radiant heat from exothermic reaction is diffused over a bottom of a tray. Hot gas circulates around the diffuser and tray with a chimney effect before exhausting. A lid on the cover lifts for access to the tray. A fuel container in the oven forces fuel through a capillary restriction to limit fuel flow. A spring in the container is released to start fuel flow.

  • Publication number: 20170030280
Abstract: A method for operating an engine of a machine is provided. The method determines a first engine operating speed of the engine from an engine speed detection module using a controller and then determines a current throttle position of the machine using a throttle detection module using the controller. The method further includes calculating a throttle-to-minimum engine operating speed map based on a correlation of the current throttle position and the first engine operating speed using the controller. The throttle-to-minimum engine operating speed map is lesser than the first engine operating speed. The method selectively regulates a current operating speed of the engine based on the throttle-to-minimum engine operating speed map using the controller, if the trigger event persists. The method selectively regulates the current operating speed of the engine based on the first engine operating speed using the controller, if the trigger event does not persist.

  • Patent number: 9544628
Abstract: A method and apparatus for streaming Over-the-Top (OTT) content on a network to subscribers is described. A digital video transport stream of an item of the OTT content is obtained via unicast streaming methods of a resolution and bit rate selected from an available set of different resolutions and bit rates for the digital video transport stream. The digital video transport stream of the selected resolution and bit rate is transmitted in the form of an IP multicast over the network to subscribers. Bandwidth utilization of the network is monitored so that switching of the bit rate to a different bit rate for the digital video transport stream can be controlled to provide adaptive rate control of the IP multicast.
