  • Publication number: 20190014579
Abstract: A wired network may be used to carry signals for a wireless network, in a frequency-shifted manner, to extend the range of the wireless network. A wired network may detect signal interference emanating from a wireless service provider, and received through a leak in the wired network's infrastructure. Devices may be installed or leveraged in the vicinity of the interference to extend the wireless service to geographic areas that may have poor reception. The devices may amplify wireless downstream signals and transmit them wireles sly, and may receive upstream wireless communications and transmit them upstream in the wired network's protocol.

  • Patent number: 10130041
Abstract: A system for ejecting a bale from a baler, wherein the ejection process is controlled by a control unit with input from various sensors and from a remote operator located on a tractor. The control unit automatically positions a chute, controls a power take-off from the tractor, depressurizes and opens a chamber door, ties the bale, selects and causes ejector teeth to project into a forming chamber to engage the bale, causes the ejector teeth to move toward a discharge outlet such that the engaged bale moves with them toward and through the discharge outlet, and determines when the bale has fully ejected from the baler. The remote operator may choose to eject only the bale or to eject the entire contents of the forming chamber, and if the former, the control unit determines the bale's length and selects a subset of the ejector teeth that corresponds to that length.

  • Publication number: 20180303036
Abstract: A baling system acts at shut-down to automatically pre-position a plunger so that it is just past a rear-dead-center position when the baler is restarted, thereby minimizing the load on a power take-off during the next restart. In particular, when the power take-off is deactivated, a control unit automatically brakes the power take-off so that the plunger stops in the desired position. Alternatively, the baling system acts at restart-up to automatically repeatedly activate and deactivate the power take-off in order to accelerate the plunger to a predetermined minimum operating speed before activating the power take-off for continuous operation, thereby maximizing a flywheel's momentum during the restart.

  • Publication number: 20180287387
Abstract: Systems and methods for continuously generating electric power using a renewable energy power source to continuously generate electrical energy are disclosed. An illustrative embodiment includes transmitting electrical power from the renewable energy power source to an electrolyzer to produce hydrogen gas, storing the hydrogen gas in a storage facility until production of power from the renewable energy power source drops below a predetermined threshold, and activating a secondary power generation system that converts the stored hydrogen to electrical energy. The stored hydrogen may be converted to electrical energy using a gas turbine generator or a fuel cell. The system further includes a reverse osmosis subsystem for purifying water for use in the electrolyzer and optional systems for providing the purified water to a community and for using the produced electricity to treat waste water to generate treated water that may be purified and supplied to the electrolyzer.

  • Patent number: 10072307
Abstract: An isolation and detection method for viruses from large quantities of water or other aqueous media. The technology employs charged resins to isolate viral particles from liquid sources such as water, milk, juices, and homogenized food. Anionic resin beads are added to a sample liquid and suspended within the liquid. While in suspension the anionic beads complex with negatively charged virus particles of other pathogens. The complexed beads are then removed from the liquid, effecting the isolation of the virus. Detection techniques can then be performed directly on the complexed beads without resorting to additional steps to elute the virus or other pathogen from the bead. The methodology can be employed for the detection of bacteriophage in an aqueous medium where the bacteriophage serves as a surrogate for the presence of a pathogen or other contaminant, such as an enteric virus.
