  • Patent number: 9694248
Abstract: A system for measuring and displaying the pressure of conventional American-style footballs in real time to game officials and spectators continuously. In one preferred embodiment, at least one pressure transducer device is disposed inside the football. The pressure transducer is an electrical oscillator. The frequency of oscillation is a known mathematical function of the bladder pressure. At least one pressure readout device is positioned externally to the football at the outside of the cover-liner. The pressure readout device wirelessly stimulates the pressure transducer device to oscillate. The pressure readout device reads the frequency of oscillation and calculates the value of the pressure. In another preferred embodiment, the value of the football's pressure is measured by physical contact with a Durometer. Both embodiments display the pressure to game officials locally; and transmit the value of the football's pressure to spectators remotely.

  • Patent number: 9674435
Abstract: Three different systems are disclosed for producing data bases that are used to drive virtual reality display apparatus. The systems employ 3-D stereo camera pairs, airborne microphones, conduction microphones, physical and chemical sensors, CPU's and supporting electronics. The data bases can be used by virtual reality audiences in real time as the data bases are created or they can be stored and used at a later time. The systems are dedicated to eliminating artifacts that would otherwise tend to interfere with the enjoyment of the virtual reality experience for virtual reality viewing audiences. The systems cover multidimensional video content, multidimensional audio content, multidimensional physical content and multidimensional chemical content. The systems are intended to be set up inside a venue for capturing VR content.

  • Publication number: 20160375340
Abstract: The present invention is an entertainment system for multitudes of sport's spectators to help them follow the movements of players and play objects on the play areas of sport's venues in real time during sporting events; and help with game nuances like making fouling and scoring decisions. The invention uses generic surveillance sources to capture the instantaneous real time continuous data streams of geographic coordinates of the players and their play objects during their movements, and displays the data as scaled animated tracks of the players and the play object on the screens of the spectator's personal smart mobile devices (includes smart devices, mobile devices) under the control of a mobile app. The tracks are displayed on a backdrop which is an animated rendering of the play area. The tracks and the backdrop are calculated to have the same scale to assure their alignment on the screen together.

  • Patent number: 9167228
Abstract: A real time system to televise sporting events from amongst the players on the playing field is disclosed. Sports paraphernalia that are ordinarily used by the players on the playing field are instrumented with a variety of TV cameras, microphones, and bi-directional communication electronics. Sports paraphernalia like footballs, ice hockey pucks, baseball first bases, baseball second bases, baseball third bases, baseball home plates and baseball pitcher's rubbers are disclosed. The instrumentation is built into and contained within the sports paraphernalia themselves. The instrumented sports paraphernalia televise signals to an antenna array relay junction, which relays the signals to a remote base station where they are processed and finally broadcast to a TV viewing audience. The cameraman in the remote base station exercises command and control over the functions of the instrumented sports paraphernalia.

  • Patent number: 9043273
Abstract: A data warehouse is constructed using the relational mapping of a transactional database without reconstructing the data relationships of the transactional database. First, an application programmer analyzes an object model in order to describe facts and dimensions using the objects, attributes, and paths of the object model. Each of the dimensions has an identifier that correlates an item in the transactional database to a dimension record in the data warehouse. The fact and dimension descriptions are saved to a description file. Second, a Data Warehouse Engine (DWE) then access the description file and uses the object model, fact and dimension descriptions, and object-relational mapping to map transactional data to the data warehouse.

  • Patent number: 8711110
Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for detecting an interaction, such as physical contact, with a touch-sensitive screen. The screen comprises a plurality of cells each associated with a signal value, such as a capacitance, that is modified based on the proximity of an object to the screen. During a first time interval, a first signal value associated with a cell is captured and during a second time interval a second signal value associated with the cell is captured. A difference is computed by subtracting the second signal value from the first signal value. The difference is used to classify the proximity of the object to the screen. For example, the object is classified as approaching the screen if the difference is positive and non-zero or the object is classified as moving away from the screen if the difference is negative and non-zero.
