Patent number: 11151833Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to a gaming machine display device mount system including a mount frame that slidably interconnects with a receiver bracket installed in a cabinet of a gaming machine. A display device is attached to the mount frame and, prior to assembling the mount frame to the receiver bracket, the cabling of the display device is coiled and contained within a portion of the mount frame. The display device and the mount frame together form a display mount assembly, which is then interconnected with the receiver bracket 128 in the gaming machine. Once interconnected, the mount frame is fastened to the receiver bracket from the interior compartment of the gaming machine providing a secure tamperproof assembly. The gaming machine display device mount system allows a single installer to assemble the display mount assembly to the gaming machine safely and without assistance.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2019Date of Patent: October 19, 2021Assignee: IGTInventors: Bradley Hemerick, John Leagh Beadell, Jack H. Brooks, Brandon J. Seaman, Jacob Wik

Patent number: 8360847Abstract: Gaming machines, systems and methods for providing more realistic emulations of rotating reels are disclosed. Gaming machines include an exterior housing, master gaming controller, display device, speakers and virtual reels. A reel spin timer can be adapted to vary the spin times of the simulated rotating reels from one game play to another, and a reel sound generator can be adapted to provide reel sounds to one or more speakers with respect to the simulated rotating reels. Provided reel sounds can also vary from one game play to another, and both reel spin times and reel sounds can be selected randomly from stored values or files. Stored values or files can include samplings from actual physical reels. A remote host can provide downloadable reel spin times and reel sounds to gaming machines within an associated gaming system.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2007Date of Patent: January 29, 2013Assignee: IGTInventors: David C. Patent number: 8177637Abstract: Disclosed are gaming machines, including related methods, apparatus, and systems, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for providing a game of chance. Peripheral devices, such as a bill acceptor and ticket printer, are consolidated in a central region of the gaming machine, behind a moveable door of the machine. Doors of the machine, including a door having a display, are moveable in directions along a longitudinal axis of the machine between open and closed positions. An adjustable button panel is moveable to a plurality of positions along the longitudinal axis, independent of the moveable doors. An array of networked displays on one or more gaming machines are controlled to simultaneously output lighting patterns, including synchronized patterns, associated with various events. Designated lighting patterns can also be output on light borders disposed around groups of buttons and other input devices on the button panel.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2006Date of Patent: May 15, 2012Assignee: IGTInventors: John Leagh Beadell, Russell Chudd, Fred Nesemeier, Randy Hedrick, Charles Curbbun, Andrew Zoolakis, Kevin Simmons, Bill Leach

Patent number: 8092304Abstract: Techniques for simulating mechanical reels are disclosed. The techniques are especially suitable for simulating mechanical reels typically used for reel-based games in gaming machines (or units). Image of at least one rotating mechanical reel can be projected on at least one projection surface to effectively simulate at least one mechanical reel. The image can be projected on multiple rotating projection surfaces (or reels) to give a closer illusion of a mechanical reel-based game. Projection can be accomplished by using a projection system coupled to one or more processors that processes projection data.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2006Date of Patent: January 10, 2012Assignee: IGTInventors: Randy Hedrick, Russell Chudd, John Leagh Beadell, Fred Nesemeier
