  • Patent number: 10758915
Abstract: A material reduction system and processing tool for a material processing machine. The material reduction system comprises a tool holder fixedly mounted to a rotary drum. A leading member defines a raker surface oriented away from the operating direction at a first predefined angle. A processing tool is removably coupled to the tool holder. A leading face of the processing tool is oriented toward the operating direction at a second predefined angle. The first and second predefined angles are such that material is directed into contact with the reducing member to limit material contact with the tool body and the tool holder. An upper flange of the processing tool directly abuts the tool holder to direct material away from the tool holder. The upper flange and a lower flange define a tool recess configured to receive a projection from the tool holder to prevent rotation of the processing tool.

  • Publication number: 20190369255
Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling the heading of a mining machine while the mining machine performs a cutting operation. One system includes a cutting system and a set of left and right tracks of the mining machine. The system also includes a lidar sensor mounted to the mining machine. The system also includes an electronic processor configured to receive the data from the lidar sensor. The electronic processor is also configured to determine a current heading of the mining machine based on the data received from the lidar sensor and compare the current heading to a target heading of the mining machine. In response to the current heading not being different from the target heading of the mining machine by a predetermined amount, the electronic processor is configured to control the mining machine to adjust the current heading of the mining machine.

  • Patent number: 10348102
Abstract: An energy module includes a capacitance-based power source structure, charging circuitry, a DC-to-DC conversion system, and an energy control module. The capacitance-based power source structure is operable to supply a voltage when the energy module is in a voltage supply mode, wherein, when substantially fully charged, the voltage is at least 48 volts and to receive a charge when the energy module is in a charge mode. The charging circuitry is operable to provide a regulated charge voltage to the capacitance-based power source structure when the energy module is in the charge mode. The DC-to-DC conversion system is operable to convert the voltage into one or more regulated supply voltages when the energy module is in the voltage supply mode. • Publication number: 20190170281
Abstract: There is disclosed a locking sleeve apparatus for securing rotating connection components. In an embodiment, the locking sleeve apparatus comprises: an elongate tube having an inner profile configured to slidingly engage an outer profile of a plurality of rotating connection components; and one or more locking mechanisms positioned internally in the elongate tube near at least one end of the elongate tube; whereby, the plurality of rotating components are mechanically coupled by the elongate tube, and prevented from rotating relative to each other. The inner profile of the elongate tube matches commonly available rotating connection components with multi-sided outer profiles, such as hexagonal nuts. The rotating connection components are configured to rotate in opposite directions relative to each other to tighten or loosen. The one or more locking mechanisms keep the locking sleeve apparatus fitted over the rotating connection components to prevent loosening.

  • Patent number: 10275593
Abstract: A computing device includes central processing resources, memory, a network interface, and a security control module. The security control module determines when to change operation of a program of the computing device. When the operation of the program is to be changed, the security control module identifies a first processing resource of the central processing resources that is currently assigned to execute the program and selects a second processing resource of the central processing resources for subsequent execution the program. The security control module then ascertains first execution settings of the program as used by the first processing resource and facilitates conversion of the first execution settings into second execution settings for the second processing resource. The security control module then de-assigns the first processing resource from executing the program and assigns the second processing resource to execute the program.

  • Patent number: 10127928
Abstract: A multi-party conversation analyzer and logger uses a variety of techniques including spectrographic voice analysis, absolute loudness measurements, directional microphones, and telephonic directional separation to determine the number of parties who take part in a conversation, and segment the conversation by speaking party. In one aspect, the invention monitors telephone conversations in real time to detect conditions of interest (for instance, calls to non-allowed parties or calls of a prohibited nature from prison inmates). In another aspect, automated prosody measurement algorithms are used in conjunction with speaker segmentation to extract emotional content of the speech of participants within a particular conversation, and speaker interactions and emotions are displayed in graphical form.

  • Patent number: 10119399
Abstract: The present invention is an engine having a housing, a rotor and a plurality of vanes. The housing has a cavity with an outer wall that has an inlet region, an insulation or hot region, a thermal separator, a chill region, a work region and a return region. The vanes define cavities that rotate between the rotor and the housing. Hot gas enters in the inlet region, which can have a slot. The cavity is full of hot gas in the insulation region. The temperature is reduced in the chill region, which causes the pressure to likewise drop to a relative low pressure. In the work region, the diameter of the outer wall is reduced. The pressure differential between successive cavities causes the rotor to turn in the direction of the decreasing wall length, whereby work can then be extracted from the engine.

  • Patent number: 9800721
Abstract: In one aspect, the present invention facilitates the investigation of networks of criminals, by gathering associations between phone numbers, the names of persons reached at those phone numbers, and voice print data. In another aspect the invention automatically detects phone calls from a prison where the voiceprint of the person called matches the voiceprint of a past inmate. In another aspect the invention detects identity scams in prisons, by monitoring for known voice characteristics of likely imposters on phone calls made by prisoners. In another aspect, the invention automatically does speech-to-text conversion of phone numbers spoken within a predetermined time of detecting data indicative of a three-way call event while monitoring a phone call from a prison inmate. In another aspect, the invention automatically thwarts attempts of prison inmates to use re-dialing services.
