Patent number: 9650734Abstract: The present invention relates to a sewing machine, specifically a long-armed stitcher. The present invention includes a computer device that may store pantograph patterns therein. The data including the pantograph patterns may be sent to projection units associated with the sewing machine head of the long-armed stitcher. The projection units use projection elements to project the pantograph patterns on the fabric to be stitched, allowing an operator of the stitcher to trace the projected pattern with a needle associated with the sewing machine head. Measurement devices associated with the sewing machine head determine head movement and alter the projected pattern accordingly such that the needle of the sewing head may continue to follow the pantograph pattern despite the head having moved in order to trace the pattern.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 2014Date of Patent: May 16, 2017Assignee: Gammill, Inc.Inventors: Daniel Lee Elliott, Joseph Wesley Bauman, Bettilou Kenney Langford

Publication number: 20160318146Abstract: An apparatus is for a pipe assembly having an open-ended pipe portion with a pipe end face extending between an inner pipe diameter and an outer pipe diameter. The apparatus includes a support assembly configured to be spatially positioned and movable. A buffing assembly is configured to extend from the support assembly. This is done in such a way that the buffing assembly, in use, contacts the pipe end face, the inner pipe diameter and the outer pipe diameter of the open-ended pipe portion of the pipe assembly once the support assembly is spatially positioned. The buffing assembly is also configured to buff the pipe end face, the inner pipe diameter and the outer pipe diameter of the open-ended pipe portion of the pipe assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2015Publication date: November 3, 2016Inventors: Derek KOSTIUK, Lee ELLIOTT

Publication number: 20160305054Abstract: The present invention relates to automatically controlling the tension of thread sewn while operating a sewing machine The system for controlling the tension of thread being used includes a wheel or other gripping mechanism that is in mechanical communication with a motor. When voltage and/or current is provided to the motor via electronic circuitry, the motor “pulls” on the thread with the desired force in a direction opposite to how the thread normally flows. The voltage and/or current delivered to the motor may be adjusted by a user. When the motor pulls on a thread to provide tension, the tension may be maintained independently of the sliding friction of the thread. As such, the tension is very accurate and repeatable, and provides for a tension that cannot be achieved with currently existing sewing machines.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 19, 2016Publication date: October 20, 2016Inventors: Daniel Lee Elliott, John Ray Buse

Patent number: 9459115Abstract: The subject technology provides a mapping view that enables a user to view, from their current location, a portion of a route to a destination including a graphical element corresponding to the current location and a second graphical element in the form of an arrow-shaped object to indicate a direction of a turn to be made on the route. As progress on route is made, when the current location of the user is within a distance threshold of the location of the turn to be made, the subject technology may animate the second graphical element to move in the direction of the turn along the route to another location where a subsequent turn is to be made. The second graphical element may remain stationary at this other location to indicate a direction of the subsequent turn until the user's current location reaches the distance threshold for this subsequent turn.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2014Date of Patent: October 4, 2016Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Brian Lee Elliott, Robin Kim Har, Michael Zohar Podwal, Lorian MacLean Kiesel Taylor

Publication number: 20160063892Abstract: The present invention relates to a teach device for practicing methods of stitching quilts. The teach device includes a display device such as a computer tablet, handles for moving the teach device, and various electronic and computer components for tracking teach device movement and for storing quilting patterns within the memory of the teach device. The teach device may also be mounted within a docking device that performs some of the above functions and/or includes some of the above components. Moreover the teach device as taught may include a communications medium that allows it to be in communication with a computerized stitcher. When the teach device and computerized stitcher are in communication with one another, movements made by the teach device may be communicated to and reproduced by the computerized stitcher on a workpiece.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 24, 2015Publication date: March 3, 2016Applicant: Gammill, Inc.Inventors: Daniel Lee Elliott, Joseph Wesley Bauman, Bettilou Kenney Langford

Publication number: 20150299922Abstract: The present invention relates to a quilting machine and more specifically a long-arm stitching machine, or stitcher. The stitcher includes handles that are used to trace a laser dot on a pantograph pattern located in front of the fabric being quilted. Tracing the laser dot ensures that the needle and thread associated with the sewing machine head duplicates the pattern being traced. In the present invention, the handles are placed to one side of the sewing machine head to allow an operator to remain upright when watching the laser trace the pattern or the needle and thread quilting the fabric.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2015Publication date: October 22, 2015Applicant: GAMMILL, INC.Inventors: Daniel Lee Elliott, Joseph Wesley Bauman, John Ray Busé, Bettilou Kenney Langford

Patent number: 4516708Abstract: A ring holder for attachment to a necklace or the like having a first member with a U-shaped loop at one end is provided. The first member includes an eyelet to permit the ring holder to be suspended from a necklace. A second member extends upwardly from one leg of the loop in helical manner about the first member and terminates in an end which is spaced a distance sufficient to permit a ring to be placed over the end and between the first and second members. A ring when so placed will spiral downwardly along the helix of the second member until it is received and stored by the loop.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1984Date of Patent: May 14, 1985Inventor: Lee A.
