  • Publication number: 20190311390
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for selecting and presenting one or more surveys to a user based on a captured image or other information. Upon completion of the survey, a reward can be sent to the user. The reward can be redeemed by first clearing the reward using a captured image and location information of the user device to determine whether the redemption may be fraudulent. Manners for sharing surveys and creating new surveys and rewards are also described.

  • Publication number: 20190311134
Abstract: A software component, upon receiving a request for access to a provider having a plurality of service levels, determines the current security state of the requesting device. The security state of the requesting device varies according to severity levels of device security events. The software component compares that security state to a policy associated with the provider. The software component then allows the requesting device access to the provider services where the device's current security state meets or exceeds the security state required for the service.

  • Publication number: 20190303586
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for conditionally granting access to service levels based on a determined security state of the device requesting access. A software component, upon receiving a request for access to a provider having a plurality of service levels, determines the current security state of the requesting device. The software component compares that security state to a policy associated with the provider. The software component then allows the requesting device access to the provider services where the device's current security state meets or exceeds the security state required for the service.

  • Patent number: 10419222
Abstract: Software applications to be installed on user devices are monitored. Authenticity of the applications is evaluated using a plurality of inputs to provide a result. The plurality of inputs may include trust factors. The trust factors may be used to generate a security evaluation. In response to the result, an action is performed such as providing a notification to a developer of a fraudulent version of an application or providing a security assessment for an application.

  • Patent number: 10417432
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for sharing information and improving the functioning of devices by blocking potentially harmful communications. In the methods and systems disclosed, a security component on an electronic device may receive a policy. The security component may also receive, from a local device proxy on the electronic device, information pertaining to a communication. The security component may compare the information pertaining to the communication to the policy. The comparison may result in a determination that the communication is potentially harmful. The security component may then instruct the local device proxy to block the communication from proceeding past the local device proxy.

  • Publication number: 20190227796
Abstract: An apparatus and method of operating a data processing apparatus are provided. The data processing circuitry is responsive to a hint instruction to then assert at least one performance modifying control signal, when subsequently generating control signals for other data processing instructions. This causes the data processing functional hardware which performs the data processing operations defined by the data processing instructions to operate in a modified manner, although the data processing results produced do not change in dependence on whether the at least one performance modifying control signal is asserted.

  • Publication number: 20190213009
Abstract: An in-order processor has a mapping storage element to store current register mapping information identifying, for each of two or more architectural register specifiers, which physical register specifies valid data for that architectural register specifier. At least one checkpoint storage element stores checkpoint register mapping corresponding to a checkpoint of previous architectural state. This enables checkpoints to be saved and restored simply by transferring mapping information between the mapping and checkpoint storage elements, rather than transferring the actual state data.

  • Patent number: 10256979
Abstract: Authenticity of a new application being installed on a mobile device is evaluated to provide a result. The evaluation uses a plurality of inputs. In response to the result, an action is performed (e.g., on the mobile device itself and/or a server performing or assisting with the evaluation). For example, the evaluating may be done for an application that a user of the mobile device desires to install from an application marketplace. In another example, the action is sending of a notification to the mobile device, and the notification includes an assessment of authenticity of the new application.

  • Publication number: 20180363443
Abstract: A horizontal directional drill and method relate to a control system adapted to operate a pipe transport apparatus to move a drill rod between a rod box and a connection area. The control system commands the pipe transport apparatus to perform a plurality of actions wherein at least one of the actions comprises two or more of the plurality of physical operations. The control system includes an operator input device configured to generate a command in response to an operator input. The control system may require persistent engagement of the operator input device to complete each action. The pipe transport apparatus pauses upon completing each of the plurality of actions until the command is again provided from the operator input device.

  • Patent number: 10157064
Abstract: A method of managing instruction execution for multiple instruction streams using a processor core having multiple parallel instruction execution slices. An event is detected indicating that either resource requirement or resource availability for a subsequent instruction of an instruction stream will not be met by the instruction execution slice currently executing the instruction stream. In response to detecting the event, dispatch of at least a portion of the subsequent instruction is made to another instruction execution slice. The event may be a compiler-inserted directive, may be an event detected by logic in the processor core, or may be determined by a thread sequencer. The instruction execution slices may be dynamically reconfigured as between single-instruction-multiple-data (SIMD) instruction execution, ordinary instruction execution, wide instruction execution.

  • Publication number: 20180307491
Abstract: A processing pipeline has at least one front end stage for issuing micro-operations for execution in response to program instructions, and an execute stage for performing data processing in response to the micro-operations. At least one predicate register stores at least one predicate value. In response to a predicated vector instruction for triggering execution of two or more lanes of processing, the at least one front end stage issues at least one micro-operation to control the execute stage to mask an effect of a lane of processing indicated as disabled by a target predicate value. One of the front end stages may perform an early predicate lookup of the target predicate value to vary in dependence on the early predicate lookup, which micro-operations are issued to the execute store for a predicated vector instruction.

  • Publication number: 20180285118
Abstract: A processor core having multiple parallel instruction execution slices and coupled to multiple dispatch queues provides flexible and efficient use of internal resources. The configuration of the execution slices is selectable so that capabilities of the processor core can be adjusted according to execution requirements for the instruction streams.
