At the apparatus, a first ADVERTISE message is received, and a REQUEST message is sent, both over the internet. The REQUEST message specifies a prefix length based on the number of network segments associated with the apparatus and the recorded estimated prefix length associated with the second multicast SOLICIT message. The method includes determining a send pattern utilizing account credentials of a user. The send pattern defines a plurality of offset and length pairs. The method further includes creating packets of data according to the send pattern. Each packet of data contains randomly assigned data of different sizes. The method also includes encrypting each packet of data to produce a set of encrypted packets of data and sending the set of encrypted packets of data to a destination endpoint device in an order determined according to the account credentials.
