Publication number: 20250381401Abstract: An artificial retinal prosthesis is disclosed for electrically stimulating a retina of an eye by spatiotemporal electrical stimulation to provide color visual perception. The prosthesis comprises a plurality of pixel group units, each including a main pixel unit and at least one auxiliary pixel unit. The main and auxiliary pixel units are driven according to different sequences of cycles, each cycle comprising a dark period followed by a lighted period, such that the pixel units intermittently output lighted pulses. During the lighted periods, the main pixel unit is nominally turned on for at least one lighted duration except for an off duration while the auxiliary pixel units are continuously turned on for the entire lighted period. During the dark periods, both the main pixel unit and the auxiliary pixel units are continuously turned off for the entire dark period.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2025Publication date: December 18, 2025Inventors: FENG-HSIUNG HSU, LONG-SHENG FAN, SAN-YUAN LIN, LEE LIN, YUNG-CHAN CHEN

Patent number: 12415065Abstract: An artificial retinal prosthesis is disclosed, which comprises a plurality of pixel group units to output a spatiotemporal electrical stimulation for inducing color perception. Each of the pixel group units comprises a main pixel unit and at least one surrounding pixel unit. The main pixel unit and the surrounding pixel unit respectively outputs an electrical stimulation waveform according to a first stimulation cycle and a second stimulation cycle. Both of the first stimulation cycle and the second stimulation cycle have a first-half duration and a second-half duration. The first-half duration of the first stimulation cycle has inactive period greater than 20% and less than 80% and the rest of the first stimulation cycle is active period. The second-half duration of the first stimulation cycle is inactive period. The first-half duration of the second stimulation cycle is active period and the second-half duration of the second stimulation cycle is inactive period.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2022Date of Patent: September 16, 2025Assignee: IRIDIUM MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.Inventors: Feng-Hsiung Hsu, Yung-Chan Chen, Long-Sheng Fan, Lee Lin

Patent number: 10925410Abstract: A mattress for patient care. The mattress includes a number of compressible cells and a number of sensors corresponding to the number of compressible cells. Each compressible cell is configured to contact, when inflated, a user in a contact area of a plurality of contact areas of the user. Each sensor is configured to generate a number of measurements, wherein each measurement relates to the contact area of a corresponding compressible cell. Each sensor is further configured to send the number of measurements to a pressure control device.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2018Date of Patent: February 23, 2021Assignee: MedicusTek, Inc.Inventors: Chia-Ming Hsu, Yi-Yuan Chen, Tsai-Yu Lin, Lavina Che-Hsuan Thong, Aaron R. Publication number: 20070027848Abstract: When a user types in one or more characters from a restricted or ambiguous character set, such as numbers from a keypad, the characters in the restricted or ambiguous set are mapped to a larger set of characters, such as the alphabet. Then, the larger mapping set is used to search through keywords representing options available on a communications device, options available through the Internet, and possibly options available through paid placements. The set of options that are returned are then sorted based on past user behavior, on the context the device was in when the search was initiated, and optionally, on weightings given to selected keywords through paid placement.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 29, 2005Publication date: February 1, 2007Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Dane Howard, Lee Lin

Publication number: 20070027852Abstract: When an input device, which may be a portable communications device, receives a keyword input from a user, an advertisement associated with the keyword, and stored on the device, is displayed. Then, a signal is transmitted to a remote site which indicates that the advertisement was displayed. In some embodiments, an advertiser pays a fee associated with the advertising being displayed, and may also pay a fee to place the advertisement on the device. A user has the option of turning off the advertisements, and/or of being paid a fee when the advertisements are displayed on his or her device.
