  • Publication number: 20120170720
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and techniques for identifying VoIP phone connector locations whereby an emergency call request can be specifically located on a VoIP phone network. This system addresses prior-art shortcomings in which the location information is attempted to be tracked with identification information stored in VoIP phones, or in which databases of location information are created relative to MAC addresses of component pieces of the VoIP phone network (such as the VoIP phones themselves, data switches, or LAN routers) Further described are VoIP phone server embodiments that enable the location and/or caller information to be determined according to the associated VoIP phone connectors and for that information to be transmitted both to public safety access points and to campus security networks, and for emergency calls to be bridged both to public safety access points and to campus security networks.

This system addresses prior-art shortcomings in which the location information is attempted to be tracked with identification information stored in VoIP phones, or in which databases of location information are created relative to MAC addresses of component pieces of the VoIP phone network (such as the VoIP phones themselves, data switches, or LAN routers) in that the VoIP phone connectors are fixedly mounted in buildings and their locations can be more reliably fixed and maintained. Further described are methods for establishing databases of location and/or caller information associated with these VoIP phone connectors.

  • Publication number: 20120044289
Abstract: A method compensates for changes in drop mass of drops ejected by ink jets in a printhead of an ink jet imaging device. The method comprises identifying an average drop placement position for a printhead with reference to ink drop positions on an image receiving member and adjusting a parameter of one or more ink jet driving signals in response to the average drop placement position being greater than a predetermined threshold.

  • Publication number: 20120018532
Abstract: A sprinkler system which is controllable to provide water to an area to be sprinkled includes a sprinkler head to move between a first position and a second position. The sprinkler system further includes a sprinkler head positioner to move the sprinkler head between the first and second positions, a sprinkler head position determiner to determine a current sprinkler head position between the first and second positions, a flow control valve to control flow of water from a water supply to the sprinkler head, a flow control valve positioner to establish a current control valve position for the flow control valve between an essentially fully closed control valve position and an essentially fully open control valve position, and a controller to receive a sprinkler head position signal from the sprinkler head position determiner and send a control valve control signal to the flow control valve positioner in response thereto.

  • Patent number: 8057005
Abstract: A method of compensating for changes in drop mass of drop emitted by at least one ink jet of an ink jet imaging device is provided. The method comprises identifying a drop placement position on an image receiving member of an ink jet imaging device for at least one ink jet of a print head. The identified drop placement position for the at least one ink jet is compared to a default drop placement position for the at least one ink jet to determine a difference in drop placement position. A drive signal for the at least one ink jet is then adjusted in accordance with the difference in drop placement position.

  • Patent number: 8059811
Abstract: A communication system that comprises call processors, interworking units, and a control system handles a plurality of calls. The call processors process signaling messages for the calls, and in response, transfer control messages for the calls and transfer data messages for the calls. The interworking units receive the control messages and user communications for the calls and interwork the user communications between a first communication format and a second communication format in response to the control messages. The control system receives and processes the data messages for the calls to maintain an active call database having call data for active ones of the calls. The control system receives a query, and in response, processes the active call database to identify one of the active calls that satisfies the query.

  • Publication number: 20110219688
Abstract: A plant container or planter is fabricated from a breathable, flexible, geo-textile, material such as recycled polyester needle-punched felt, which is self-supporting without an internal support structure. The geo-textile material is porous to both air and water, which allows air-born nutrients to pass to the roots and inhibit the ability of mold species to grow and harm the plant. The geo-textile material is configurable to various container designs that permit the non-conventional plant placement including the mounting of the plant containers on vertical surfaces, flat surfaces, and by suspension from ceilings and walls. The inclusion of a flexible, durable, impermeable, water-retaining, recycled rubber, vinyl, or plastic bottom and/or backing liner in the construction of the plant containers/hangers allow the planters to be placed on indoor and outdoor surfaces such as wood, stucco, sheetrock, carpet, and various other surfaces which might otherwise be damaged by moisture.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for automatically controlling the settings of an adjustable crop residue discharge system of an agricultural combine is provided. The apparatus includes a sensor, an actuator, and a controller. The sensor detects a position of a residue deflector and/or a speed of the residue discharge system. The actuator operatively controls the residue deflector to adjustably position the residue deflector. The controller is operatively connected to the sensor and actuator. The controller includes a memory, a speed input device, a position input device, and a mode input device. • Patent number: 7545824
Abstract: A signaling processor processes a first message to select a TDM connection for the call and transfers a second message indicating the selected TDM connection. The interworking unit receives the second message and user communications for the call in a packet format, converts the user communications from the packet format to a TDM format, and transfers the user communications in the TDM format over the selected TDM connection. The interworking unit monitors the user communications for a trigger after call set-up and during the call, and if the trigger is detected, transfers a third message indicating the trigger. The signaling processor receives and processes the third message to select routing information for routing the call to a service platform and transfers a fourth message indicating the selected routing information to route the call to the service platform.
