    Abstract: The invention includes a concave cup specifically designed to hold various size basketballs. The cup has a stem which inserts and is held securely in a precision bearing, which in turn is held firmly in the splined finger gripping portion of the invention. The splined finger gripping portion of the device is held securely on the finger of a person, by an o-ring. The o-ring rolls up and down on the splined portion and is prevented from rolling off by the molded protrusions at the bottom of the splined finger gripping portion of the invention. The splines are tapered to allow for expansion and contraction to fit various finger sizes.

    Abstract: The present invention provides reflectorized and/or safety-colored work clothes. A reflectorized tee shirt is included, which may be a member of a layered set of safety clothing. Use of the clothing system of the invention avoids the problem of taking off a layer of clothing by first removing a safety vest, then removing, for instance, coveralls, then putting vest back on. In the invention, for example, as reflective coveralls are removed, then beneath is a reflective tee shirt, ready to provide continued safety visibility.

    Abstract: A method for the manufacture of precipitated calcium carbonate from impure calcium oxide of improved color is disclosed. The method comprises admixing impure calcium oxide with an aqueous solution consisting essentially of a salt of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of organic amines of the formula RNH.sub.2 and alkanolamines of the formula NH.sub.2 (R.sup.1 OH), where R and R.sup.1 are alkyl groups of 1-4 carbon atoms, and hydrochloric or nitric acid. The solution obtained is treated with a reducing agent e.g. sodium hydrosulphite, separated from insoluble matter and then treated with carbon dioxide or the carbonate of the amine or alkanolamine at a temperature of at least 50.degree. C. Preferably, the amine of the salt and of the carbonate are the same, and the salt is used in at least the stoichiometric amount to dissolve the lime.
