  • Publication number: 20150299483
Abstract: A method of producing a shear-thinning silica dispersion for an inkjet ink comprising: providing a composition comprising fumed silica, an organic solvent and/or a reactive diluent and a radiation-curable oligomer and/or a passive thermoplastic resin; bead milling the composition using milling beads having a mean diameter of 0.3 to 1.0 mm, wherein the ratio of the volume of milling beads present in the composition during bead milling in mL to the weight of the composition in grams is 0.5 to 2.0:1.0, and wherein the viscosity of the composition during bead milling is 50-800 mPasat 1,000 s; and removing the composition from the mill.

  • Patent number: 6085756
Abstract: A apparatus 10 for painting nails is provided. The nail polishing apparatus includes a substantially "U"-shaped nail abutting portion 12 and an integrally formed substantially "V"-shaped portion 14. Portion 12 includes a slot 18 into which a user can insert a finger 68. Surface 16 of portion 12 effectively covers the skin and/or cuticles 78, 80 surrounding the finger nail 72, thereby preventing unnecessary application of nail polish to these areas. Portion 14 is adapted to pivotally support finger 68 and nail 72 at some distance above a surface 68.

  • Patent number: 5713453
Abstract: An apparatus for selectively orienting consecutive fin strips relative to one another as a preliminary step in the manufacture of a heat exchanger includes a sensor for sensing the presence of each of a series of fin strips all having a common orientation relative to one another. The apparatus includes an orienting member which receives signals from the sensor as to the presence of each fin strip and rotates each consecutive fin strips in alternating clockwise and counter-clockwise directions to orient consecutive fin strips 180.degree. relative to each adjacent fin strip.
