  • Patent number: 5921327
Abstract: A pneumatic portable impact tool includes a tubular housing, at least one handle pivotally supported on the housing, a hammer piston formed with an impact delivering neck portion, and an air distribution valve for directing air pressure alternatingly to opposite ends of the hammer piston so as to make the hammer piston reciprocate in the housing. The housing includes a rear section, an intermediate section, and a front section integrally formed in one piece. The rear section includes a socket portion for supporting the air distribution valve. The intermediate section includes a cylinder bore for sealingly guiding the hammer piston, and a damping sleeve mounted in the cylinder bore and arranged to be penetrated by the hammer piston neck portion, thereby forming a hammer piston damping air cushion chamber. And the front section includes a working implement receiving front opening and supports a movable latch arranged to releasably lock a working implement to the housing.

  • Patent number: 5866349
Abstract: A sample of whole blood is contacted with a reagent which by chemical reaction with glucose in the sample brings about a detectable dye concentration change (10) the size of which is determined as a measure of the glucose content of the sample. The sample is initially introduced undiluted in a microcuvette having at least one cavity for receiving the sample. The cavity is internally pretreated with the reagent in dry form, and the chemical reaction takes place in the cavity. Active components of the reagent comprise at least a hemolyzing agent for exposing glucose contained in the blood cells of the sample for allowing total glucose determination, and agents taking part in the chemical reaction and ensuring that the dye concentration change (10) takes place at least in a wavelength range (14) outside the absorption range (12) of the blood hemoglobin. An absorption measurement is performed in said wavelength range directly on the sample in the cuvette.

  • Patent number: 5749421
Abstract: A pneumatic impact breaker includes a housing provided at a rear end thereof with at least one handle, a longitudinal cylinder bore formed in the housing, and a hammer piston reciprocally guided in the cylinder bore. A socket is formed in a front portion of the housing for receiving a rear impact receiving end of a working implement. An air distributing valve is located in a rear portion of the cylinder bore and arranged to direct motive pressure air alternatingly to opposite ends of the hammer piston to make the hammer piston reciprocate in the cylinder bore. And a cylinder head forms a closure for the cylinder bore as well as an axial support for the air distributing valve. The cylinder head at least partly extends into the rear portion of the cylinder bore, the housing is formed at the rear end thereof with two parallel wall portions both extending rearwardly beyond the cylinder head, and the at least one handle extends in between the two parallel wall portions.

  • Patent number: 5374335
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sized paper containing a hydrophobic zeolite. Suitably, the sized paper is fine paper, kraft liner or paperboard. In paperboard intended for solid or liquid foodstuffs, tobacco or medicines, use is also made of the capacity of the zeolite to reduce, by adsorption, the problem of transfer from the package to its content of substances causing undesirable taste or hazardous substances. The present invention also relates to a method for production of the sized paper by forming and dewatering a suspension of lignocellulose-containing fibres, where the dewatering is carried out in the presence of a hydrophobic zeolite. Due to the inert nature of the zeolite, it can be used in papermaking within a very broad pH range. The present invention also relates to the use of a hydrophobic zeolite for the production of sized paper as well as use of the thus-sized paper in packaging material.

  • Patent number: 4662148
Abstract: In the application of preprinted film wrappings around packing containers it is sometimes required that the text or decorative pattern of the wrapping should be located in a certain position in relation to the edges of the finished packing container. A method of film wrapping around an object, e.g. a packing container, is described in which a film web is joined to a waste material web and is advanced with the help of this until the decoration is situated in a predetermined position. Subsequently the packing containers are wrapped while the film web is delivered from a film roll whereupon the sealing is performed on a previously unused part of the film web. Apparatus for carrying out the method is described which comprises co-operating sealing jaws and a conveyor consisting of two parallel parts.

  • Patent number: 4261939
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for the manufacture of a web of foamed thermoplastic material. The material web is extruded to form a tubular member and then expanded by action of a compressed fluid so that the outside of the tubular member is forced against a calibrating element arranged adjacent the tubular member. The tubular member is then cooled to a temperature below the softening temperature of the material and then is cut and converted into web form.

  • Patent number: 4217085
Abstract: An arrangement for the processing of a moving material web, in particular for the creasing or punching of an extruded material web made of plastics. In the manufacture of such material webs a number of operational steps take place directly in conjunction with the manufacture of the web itself, and the fact that for reasons of quality as well as of manufacturing technique the extrusion process cannot be interrupted makes it necessary to attend to any changes in the crease pattern etc. during operation. The arrangement in accordance with the invention makes this possible, in that the material web can be brought into contact optionally with different pairs of processing rollers with the help of a pair of counter-rollers supported in a swivelling cradle, any pair of unused rollers being freely exchangeable against a pair of rollers with a different creasing pattern.

  • Patent number: 4080656
Abstract: In apparatus having at least two roll pairs and/or stretch rolls each having a driving means with an amplifier for speed control, the speed control reference for each drive is developed by summing signals developed in adjacent control circuits such as to obtain a relationship in which, for example, for the second drive the signal is V.sub.0 (1 + S.sub.1) (1 + S.sub.2) where V.sub.0 is a basic speed reference signal and S.sub.1 and S.sub.2 desired relative speed differences for first and second drives to thereby permit speed adjustments.
