  • Publication number: 20210161229
Abstract: An athletic clothing assembly for convenient stowage of a mouthguard includes a garment configured to position over and at least partially cover at least one of an upper body and a lower body of an athlete. A first panel is coupled by opposing edges and a bottom edge to a surface of the garment to define a pocket. The pocket is configured to insert a mouthguard to removably stow the mouthguard. A closure that is coupled to the garment and the first panel proximate to an upper edge of the first panel is positioned to selectively close the pocket to retain the mouthguard in the pocket.

  • Patent number: 9649037
Abstract: Combined blood flow and blood pressure measurements are used for the calculation of central vascular blood flow parameters. Blood flow measurements may be made simultaneously with arterial pressure measured either centrally or peripherally and central venous pressure for the monitoring of human subjects. A combined blood flow and blood pressure measurement device for hemodynamic monitoring may include a Doppler ultrasound probe utilizing a continuous wave or pulse wave ultrasound beam for the measurement of blood flow in the aorta, combined with arterial pressure measurement, or signal input from a suitable pressure transducer system from one of either the radial, brachial, dorsalis pedis or femoral artery. The ultrasound probe may comprise either an esophageal or suprasternal ultrasound probe, while the blood pressure measurement may be either an electronic transducer blood pressure sphygmomanometer on the arm, or a finger cot infrared light optical pulse detector.

  • Publication number: 20130246512
Abstract: Aspects relate to a cognitive agent that performs functions associated with a desired result. The functions performed by cognitive agent supplement other activities performed at a same time. In such a manner, the cognitive agent can function as a surrogate for a user. A performed activity can trigger implementation of another activity that is an extension of the performed activity. Cognitive agent can perform functions that can be represented as an avatar. Further, cognitive agent can be associated with a diagnostics component that evaluates an operating condition. Based on the operating condition cognitive agent can implement automatic actions associated with mitigating failures and/or prolonging the life of machinery.

  • Patent number: 8103445
Abstract: Provided is a single repository for capturing, connecting, sharing, and visualizing information based on a geographic location, for example. Detailed information can be dynamically rendered as a function of a user parameter, which can include a user demographic, a user profile, and a user preference information. Map information and advertisements displayed in conjunction with the map information can be dynamically rendered as a function of a user advertising preference. If a user prefers one product over another product, a first advertisement for the less preferred product can be replaced with a second advertisement for the preferred product.

  • Patent number: 8075485
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of automatically setting the gain of an echo signal in a Doppler ultrasound haemodynamic monitor. In essence the invention comprises monitoring the strength of velocity components measured by the apparatus, and identifying a group of such components occupying a particular band within the overall velocity spectrum. The signal gain is then adjusted so that the perceived width of the band falls within predetermined limits. The monitoring or assessment of the velocity components is preferably undertaken when the overall flow velocity is high e.g. during systole.

  • Patent number: 7920072
Abstract: Provided is a single repository for capturing, connecting, sharing, and visualizing information based on a geographic location, for example. Detailed information of a structure or object information can be displayed on a rooftop or over an area of interest. The detailed information can be provided for a single structure or for each structure shown on a map area. According to an embodiment is a system that facilitates surface overlay and bounding on a map. The system can include a receiver component that receives information for an object, a boundary component that ascertains a perimeter of the object, and a rendering component that selectively displays the object information and object on a map based in part on a user perspective.

  • Publication number: 20110000744
Abstract: The invention provides a enhancement to stairlift safety by separately monitoring the angular movement of a stairlift chair levelling motor, and the angular position of a chair leveled by that motor. By comparing the angular positions, any failure in the levelling system can be readily determined and, in response, a seat locking device can be deployed.

  • Publication number: 20100274409
Abstract: The invention describes an over-speed governor for a stairlift which not only triggers a safety gear or brake upon the carriage exceeding a pre-determined speed, but also triggers the safety gear in the event the carriage unexpectedly reverses its direction. In a preferred embodiment, the over-speed governor also triggers the safety gear in the event the chair departs from the horizontal by more than a predetermined angle. The speed determining function is preferably electronic and the safety gear operates in both directions without adaptation. Other aspects are described including setting the trip speed as a function of carriage position on the rail.

  • Publication number: 20100250367
Abstract: Aspects relate to providing markers related to a mapping application, wherein the provided markers are selectively modified as a function of the relevancy of the markers to a person that has requested the markers. The relevancy is determined based on one or more indicators included in the marker. The indicators answer questions related to who, what, when, where, and why. Markers can be ranked based on the association between the person that requested the marker and the person that provided the marker. Further, a copy of an original marker can be modified to conform with the relevancy of the marker to the requestor.

  • Publication number: 20100250366
Abstract: Various entities might desire to leave markers at various locations in a mapping application for themselves and others. These markers can be provided by an entity physically located near the location associated with the marker and/or at a different location (e.g., entity is at a first location and the marker is associated with a second location). Further, different entities can provide markers associated with a similar geographic area. A user visiting the location (virtually or physically) can review the various markers left by others. In such a manner, the user visiting the location can have further details associated with the location. Different categories of markers can be combined and rendered to the user as a hybrid of markers.

  • Patent number: 7777648
Abstract: Provided is a single repository for capturing, connecting, sharing, and visualizing information based on a geographic location, for example. Detailed information about a structure or other object information can be displayed as mode information. An object of interest can be identified by monitoring a user activity or inactivity with regard to a displayed map. If the user hovers a pointing device over an object within the displayed map for longer than a predetermined amount of time, it can be inferred that the user should be presented with additional information regarding the object.
