A recommendation platform processes context information to determine one or more roles associated with a user. Next, the recommendation platform calculates at least one level of similarity between the one or more roles and one or more other roles associated with one or more other users. Then, the recommendation platform determines recommendation information associated with the one or more other users based, at least in part, on the at least one level of similarity. Next, the recommendation platform processes the recommendation information to generate one or more recommendations for the user.

    Abstract: A basic oxygen furnace slag treatment method includes the steps of mixing basic oxygen furnace slag with an active aqueous solution and then keeping the mixture thus obtained under an enclosed environment for reaction and then employing a solid-liquid separation procedure to separate solid phase from liquid phase. Since basic oxygen furnace slag has strong alkaline, the method of the invention overcomes the problem that directly discharging basic oxygen furnace slag will cause environmental pollutions. The basic oxygen furnace slag treatment method avoids a secondary pollution, and can turn waste into treasure, bringing a number of economic benefits.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a method for fabricating a super mirror finish stainless steel sheet uses the following steps: 1) rough machining, wherein a 400-450 grit sandpaper or scouring pad is used to remove an oxide layer on a surface of a stainless steel decorative sheet; 2) finish machining, wherein a 240-1,000 grit graphite grinding wheel is used to perform finish grinding; and 3) polishing processing, wherein an abrasive material is used to perform polishing. For the finish grinding and the polishing that are performed by using the grinding wheel and the abrasive material respectively, a multi-shaft polishing system is used to drive a grinding wheel, and a cylinder is controlled to adjust a force of each polishing shaft, which enables a stainless steel decorative sheet to have a surface finish under 0.01 ?m and a reflectivity above 69%.

In one or more embodiments, the process includes introducing a feed starch and the aqueous liquid into a rotor stator mixer, maintaining the feed starch and the aqueous liquid in the rotor stator mixer at a temperature ranging from a gelation temperature to less than a solubilization temperature, and shearing the feed starch into starch particles with the rotor stator mixer to form the dispersion of starch particles in the aqueous liquid. In one or more embodiments, the starch particles produced by this process have an average particle size diameter of no larger than 2 micrometers and the dispersion has 20 to 65 weight percent of the starch particles based on a total weight of the dispersion.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a process for making a comb-like polymer comprising the following steps of reacting an epoxy-functionalized monomer with a nucleophile comprising a C8-C20-alkyl group or halogen substituted C8-C20-alkyl group in the presence of an aqueous medium and polymerizing the reaction product. The comb-like polymer has functional groups on its backbone and long hydrophobic side chains. It can even be produced as a shell on a submicron sphere according to an alternative process according to the invention. The polymers obtainable by the inventive process can be polymerized with polyurethane prepolymers to achieve coating surfaces that show superhydrophobicity (see FIG.). Such coatings can have numerous applications especially in the aircraft industry for paints used on the airplane wings, because they avoid water droplet building.
