  • Publication number: 20180345265
Abstract: The present particles, compositions and methods are Nb-oxide embedded carbon based electrocatalysts. In one embodiment, a carbon based support particle is provided having NbOx (0 ?x?2 is average value of amorphous low-oxidation-state niobium oxides) and a catalytically active metal deposited thereupon. In one embodiment, a method is provided of embedding niobium oxides into pores of carbon black, which involves filling about 4 nm pores on Ketjenblack EC 600JD (KB) with Nb(V) ethoxide by sonication, and decomposing/reducing dried Nb(V) precursor in carbon to ?5 nm particles of NbOx. The embedded, small metal or metal oxide particles over porous carbon surface may find applications in fuel cell and battery technologies. The present compositions can be used for fabricating active and durable catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR).

  • Publication number: 20180150539
Abstract: A computer implemented method for manipulating data comprises receiving log transaction information from a primary database system at a secondary database system and parsing the log transaction information to identify data objects that have been modified on the primary database system. The secondary database system determines whether the data objects are present in main memory on the secondary database system. If the data objects are not in the main memory, they are copied from persistence data volumes to the main memory. The data objects are modified by replaying the log transactions on the data objects in the main memory. Then, the data objects in the persistence data volumes are modified. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

  • Patent number: 9361698
Abstract: A system and method for determining depth information of an object is provided. The system projects dots on an object and captures an image of the object with captured dots. The system identifies the captured dots based on a brightness of the captured dots and identifies coordinates of the captured dots. The system processes the captured image by removing brightness information of pixels outside of the captured dots. The system processes the captured dot by overlaying synthesized dot image on the captured dot. The system divides the processed captured image into captured sections and compares the captured sections to reference sections. The system selects individual reference sections having a highest correlation score for each of the captured sections and correlates a captured dot from each of the captured sections to a reference dot in respective corresponding reference sections. Depth information may be calculated based on coordinates of the captured dots and correlated reference dots.
