  • Publication number: 20150280569
Abstract: A power conversion circuit includes a variable voltage converter (VVC) with a stabilizing means for stabilizing its output voltage. The stabilizing means can be in the form of a diode that clamps the WC output voltage to the WC input voltage so that the output voltage does not drop below the input voltage when a load imposes a sudden power demand. The stabilizing means also enables a bypass mode in which transient power can be provided from a power source to an inverter without current flow through the VVC inductor or switches. When embodied as a diode, the stabilizing means can increase the maximum power that can be transferred by the power conversion circuit, improve the power response of the circuit, minimize control instability, and reduce power losses.

  • Publication number: 20150002702
Abstract: A zoom lens apparatus with focus adjusting and an optical imaging device therewith are provided, wherein a combination of screw-driven ultra sonic motor and voice coil motor is adopted to drive different optical lens sets (25,61). For the ultra sonic motor, the screw motion of the rotor (23) is transformed into a simple rectilinear motion by providing a third tube (24) placed in the rotor (23) and radially fixed relative to the stator (22). Thus the zoom lens apparatus with focus adjusting produced with the combination can well maintain the stability of the optical axis, moreover, the combination of different driving methods integrates and makes better use of lens sets of different functions and hence simplifies the overall structure.

  • Publication number: 20140334105
Abstract: An improved capacitor packaging solution is presented that incorporates both thermal and electrical considerations. A package can include capacitor elements electrically coupled to a bus bar, and a thermally enhanced isolation layer between the bus bar and a case. The isolation layer can be provided adjacent a case base and sidewall portions. The bus bar can be disposed adjacent the isolation layer and be configured to extend along the package side and along the package length below the capacitor elements to provide an extended path for heat dissipation from the bus bar prior to its contact with capacitor elements. The enhanced isolation layer is configured to conduct heat away from the bus bar to the case to avoid the hotspot temperature of the capacitor. Reduced capacitor temperature allows use of smaller, cheaper capacitors, reducing inverter costs without compromising performance.

  • Publication number: 20140292347
Abstract: A low cost fault detection and protection method and embodiment circuit can detect short circuit faults between an inverter system control (ISC) circuit outputs and a chassis, an electrical machine winding and a chassis, and a DC bus and a chassis. A fault protection unit (FPU) can monitor chassis voltage with respect to a DC bus to detect the presence of a short circuit fault, and provide status output indication of whether a fault is detected. By way of example, an FPU can include a window detector and a signal transmitter. An FPU can provide status output to an ISC controller configured to terminate ISC operation when any of the aformentioned faults is present, thereby preventing damage to devices contained in the ISC circuit.

  • Patent number: 8575778
Abstract: A variable voltage converter (VVC) is configured to provide bidirectional voltage boost and buck from an input side to an output side. A VVC can include a voltage control portion and a battery charging portion. When incorporated into an inverter system controller (ISC) for a hybrid electric vehicle, the VVC can be configured to charge a battery during both high and low ISC dc bus voltage conditions. A VVC can be configured to receive power from an ac power source through a plug coupled to the VVC via a soft start rectifier. Accordingly, the VVC with integrated battery charger can be used to charge a battery for a Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) from a standard ac electrical outlet.

  • Publication number: 20130069570
Abstract: A PWM strategy can be implemented to reduce device power losses and hotspot temperature in an inverter circuit that drives a synchronous motor. A method includes migrating a phase current from a power device with higher losses to a power device with lower losses. A PWM modulation signal can be modified to alter the inverter duty cycle and migrate phase current in the direction of lower losses. As an example, a PWM reference signal can be shifted to a lower value. A PWM loss reduction strategy can be performed while a motor is in a rotor-lock state to reduce device hotspot temperature. The PWM loss reduction strategy can also be performed when a motor is operating in a normal state, pushing PWM to DPWM, reducing switching and overall losses. The strategy can be practiced while a PMSM is operating as a motor, and can also be practiced during regenerative braking.

  • Publication number: 20110214464
Abstract: The present invention relates to a biocontrol strain against the wilt of continuous cropping cucumber and watermelon as well as its microbial organic fertilizer, which belongs to the technology for agricultural intensive production. The present invention separates Trichoderma harzianum SQR-T037, which has a remarkable biocontrol effect against wilt of cucumber and watermelon. Microbial organic fertilizer was produced from this biocontrol strain and organic compost. In this fertilizer, the content of the strain is above 1×108 cfu/g, the content of total nitrogen is 3˜5% (above 90% of the nitrogen is organic nitrogen), total nitrogen-phosphorus-kalium nutrient is 6˜10% and organic matter is 30˜35%. As indicated by the experiments, after this microbial organic fertilizer is applied to soil, it will enable rapid multiplication of biocontrol strain into a dominant microflora in the soil and achieve more than 85% of biocontrol rate of wilt in the soil suffering from serious cucumber and watermelon wilt.
