  • Publication number: 20220095327
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a first user equipment (UE) to manage the reuse of resources reserved for sidelink communications by the UE. The first UE may identify scheduling information for a sidelink shared channel between the first UE and a second UE, and the first UE may reserve a set of resources for subsequent sidelink communications by the first UE. The first UE may transmit a sidelink control message indicating the scheduling information and the reserved resources to one or more neighboring UEs. The sidelink control message may include a reuse allowance indicator that may indicate whether the set of reserved resources is available for spatial reuse by the neighboring UEs. The neighboring UEs may determine whether the reuse the reserved resources based on the control message, the reuse allowance indicator, or both.

  • Publication number: 20220070906
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may support the transmission of a scheduling request via a physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH). In some cases, a user equipment (UE) may determine a configuration of a set of PSFCH resource blocks (RBs). The UE may receive a first bit map that may indicate a subset of the set of PSFCH RBs allocated for transmitting a scheduling request on the PSFCH, and the UE may receive a second bit map that may indicate a second subset of the PSFCH RBs allocated for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) messages. The UE may transmit a scheduling request via one or more RBs of the first subset of the PSFCH RBs. In some cases, the UE may generate a waveform for transmitting the scheduling request message, and the waveform may be based on the number of RBs selected.

  • Publication number: 20220061040
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device, which may be a user equipment (UE), may transmit a sidelink control information SCI) message (e.g., an SCI-1 message) on a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) to a group of devices. The SCI may message may reserve a set of sidelink resources for a sidelink communication between the first device and a second device of the group of devices. The first device may receive an acknowledgment (ACK) message on a physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) from the second device. Based on receiving the ACK message, the first device may release the set of sidelink resources and may transmit a release message (e.g., a physical sidelink release channel (PSRCH) message) on a PSRCH that includes an indication of the released set of sidelink resources.

  • Publication number: 20220053480
Abstract: The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support spatial reuse for sidelink communications. Generally, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) to reuse resources for receiving sidelink transmissions. The UE may receive a first sidelink control channel that may indicate a set of reserved resources for sidelink communications associated with a second UE. The first UE may decode a second sidelink control channel from the second UE based on the first sidelink control channel. The first UE may determine that the set of resources is available for use based on a result of decoding the second sidelink control channel, a radius of the second sidelink control channel, and the distance between the first UE and the second UE.

  • Publication number: 20220039078
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring a search space for sidelink communications between one or more sensors/actuators (SAs) and programmable logic controller (PLC) in internet of things (IoT) applications in order to minimize the number of subchannels that a receiver (e.g., PLC or SA) may need to blind decode. More particularly, the search space is configurable based on a hashing function that is based in part on a portion of the resources (e.g., PLC resources) that have been allocated or reserved for sidelink communication within the PLC subnetwork (or PLC group) from the sidelink resource pool available to a plurality of PLCs in a network. By limiting the search space to a subset of resources that are specific to the PLC subnetwork or group, the need for the SA or PLC to perform blind decoding of sidelink control information (SCI) may be further reduced.

  • Publication number: 20220039134
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that help reducing transmission overhead related to sidelink control information (SCI). For example, when a transmitter UE has established a sidelink communication with a receiver UE, the transmitter UE may schedule with at least one semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) process at a first time interval. The transmitter UE may sense whether a resource is available for transmissions to the receiver UE based on decoding an SCI, such as an SCI 0-1 message. The SCI is transmitted at a second time interval that is greater than the first time interval. For example, the second time interval may be a multiple of the first time interval of the at least one SPS process. The second time interval may be flexible and may be increased to reduce the number of SCI messages transmitted in certain time periods in order to reduce communication overhead.

  • Publication number: 20220030648
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring a search space for reverse sidelink communications between one or more sensors/actuators (SAs) and programmable logic controller (PLC) in internet of things (IoT) applications. Particularly, the techniques described herein configure a search space (e.g., subset of all available sub-channels) for reception of sidelink packets (e.g., physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) and physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH)) that may be received at the PLC from the one or more SAs. In some examples, the PLC may monitor the subset of subchannels and decode the sidelink packets received on the subset of subchannels without the need for the PLC to perform blind decoding of all sidelink sub-channels as is currently required in conventional systems. Thus, the disclosed techniques reduce latency and maximize the resource utilization (e.g., by using less processing power and bandwidth) for sidelink communications.

  • Publication number: 20220030551
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) resource allocation operations. A transmit (TX) user equipment (UE) transmit a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) that indicates an allocated PSSCH resource portion. In a first aspect, the portion includes two non-contiguous subchannels. In a second aspect, the PSCCH indicates a layer or a node of a layer of a resource allocation layer structure. In a third aspect, the PSCCH indicates a subchannel group size for an allocated resource, using a bitmask or a value that corresponds to a subchannel and a group size combination. In a fourth aspect, the TX UE determines the portion based multiple values of subchannel and length combinations, the multiple values determined by disabling one or more combinations of a total number of subchannel and length combination for contiguous allocation, or for contiguous and non-contiguous allocation.
