  • Patent number: 7903020
Abstract: A sensing system is provided that includes a transceiver. The transceiver includes a transmitter chain that transmits a double-sideband signal having first and second frequency components, and a receiving chain that receives the double-sideband signal after it is reflected by a target. The system further includes a baseband circuit for extracting information content from the received double-sideband signal. A separation between a first frequency of the first frequency component and a second frequency of the second frequency component causes a spike in a signal response generated by one sideband of the received double-sideband signal to substantially overlap a null point of a signal response generated by the other sideband of the received double-sideband signal.

Abstract: The present invention provides genetic markers, SOX5 and SPARC, for distant metastasis and poor prognosis of detection of the high risk potential for cancer patients. In addition, the present invention also provides a method to predict the risk potential for cancer patients with distant metastasis and poor prognosis. This method comprises obtaining a tissue sample from a patient; evaluating the expression levels of the SOX5 and/or SPARC genetic markers in the sample; and comparing the expression levels of genetic markers with those of non-cancerous tissues. The patient is determined to have the high risk of distant metastasis or poor prognosis when the expression level of SOX5 is higher, or when the expression level of SPARC is lower, than that of non-cancerous tissue.

  • Patent number: 7904773
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing ordered capture clocks to detect or locate faults within N clock domains and faults crossing any two clock domains in a scan-based integrated circuit or circuit assembly in self-test or scan-test mode, where N>1 and each domain has a plurality of scan cells. The method and apparatus will apply an ordered sequence of capture clocks to all scan cells within N clock domains where one or more capture clocks must contain one or more shift clock pulses during the capture operation. A computer-aided design (CAD) method is further developed to realize the method and synthesize the apparatus. In order to further improve the circuit's fault coverage, a CAD method and apparatus are further developed to minimize the memory usage and generate scan patterns for full-scan and feed-forward partial-scan designs containing transparent storage cells, asynchronous set/reset signals, tri-state busses, and low-power gated clocks.

  • Publication number: 20110049583
Abstract: A transistor, which can be referred to as a multi-gate transistor or as a FinFET, includes a gate structure having a length, a width and a height. The transistor further includes at least one electrically conductive channel or fin between a source region and a drain region that passes through the width of the gate structure. The channel has a first height (h1) within the gate structure that is less than the height of the gate structure, and has a second height (h2) external to the gate structure, where h2 is less than h1. The transistor further includes a silicide layer disposed at least partially over the at least one channel external to the gate structure. Reducing the fin height external to the gate structure is shown to beneficially reduce parasitic resistance.

  • Publication number: 20110050614
Abstract: Methods are proposed for object positioning for an X-Y projected capacitive touch panel. In an embodiment, capacitance sensing under inphase excitation of traces is applied to set a base value when the capacitive touch panel is not touched and to obtain capacitances at intersections when the capacitive touch panel is touched, and the base value is compared with the measured capacitances to identify touch points. In other embodiments, X-Y projected sensing and all-point sensing are combined to reduce the amount of calculation and achieve the same positioning effect as an all-point capacitive touch panel.

  • Publication number: 20110050305
Abstract: A system and method to establish the lock point of a digital synchronous circuit (e.g., a DLL) at the center of or close to the center of its delay line is disclosed. The synchronous circuit is configured to selectively use either a reference clock or its inverted version as the clock signal input to the delay line based on a relationship among the phases of the reference clock, the inverted reference clock, and a feedback clock may be used during determination of the phase relationship. The selective use of the opposite phase of the reference clock for the input of the delay line results in centralization of the lock point for most cases as well as improvement in the tuning range and the time to establish the initial lock, without requiring an additional delay line.
