Publication number: 20250034525Abstract: A construction method, a detection method, and application of an in vitro tissue model of diabetic cardiomyopathy. Bundles of human engineered heart tissue constructed from cardiomyocytes differentiated from induced human pluripotent stem cells are utilized to construct a disease model that simulates diabetic cardiomyopathy in which the myocardium evolves from diastolic dysfunction to systolic dysfunction upon stimulation. An in vitro tissue model of diabetic cardiomyopathy and a detection system based on altered contractile and electrical conduction properties for the same are constructed for the first time, and it is determined that a high concentration of PA is capable of inducing a change in the myocardium from unchanged contractility (impaired) to decreased contractility.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2024Publication date: January 30, 2025Applicant: HUBEI UNIVERSITYInventors: Donghui ZHANG, Lin CAI, Yuxin ZHAO, Qian LIU

Patent number: 11159357Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for sharing a communication resource. Two transmitters seek to use the same two communication slots to transmit two symbols each to a receiver. At each transmitter, data rotation provides two orthogonal combinations of two input symbols which are transmitted in the two slots. An additional phase rotation between slots at one of the transmitters provides phase diversity. The receiver receives superimposed signals from the transmitters, each slot providing information of all four symbols. Joint detection over the two slots provides coding gain and reliable recovery of all four symbols in the two communication slots. Performance results are provided. Disclosed techniques are lightweight and suitable for resource-constrained IoT devices.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2021Date of Patent: October 26, 2021Assignee: UVic Industry Partnerships Inc.Inventors: Wen Cui, Lin Cai

Patent number: 11013040Abstract: Embodiments are provided for identifying transitory WiFi users and providing a differential treatment of such users in terms of delaying associating steps between user stations (STAs) and an access point (AP). A transitory user refers to a user or user device that connects to a WiFi AP but does not run applications that require association or assigning IP addresses, such as short-term or temporary connected WiFi users that are on the move. In an embodiment, a STA connects to an AP. Upon the STA indicating its transitory behavior to the AP or the AP detecting criteria of transitory behavior of the STA, the STA obtains a delay time value from the AP. The STA then delays sending an association request to the AP, or alternatively, the AP delays handling the association request from the STA in accordance with the delay time value.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2018Date of Patent: May 18, 2021Assignee: Futurewei Technologies, Inc.Inventors: George Calcev, Hanan J Ahmed, Bin Chen, Lin Cai
