    Abstract: A method includes forming isolation regions extending from a top surface of a semiconductor substrate into the semiconductor substrate, and forming a hard mask strip over the isolation regions and a semiconductor strip, wherein the semiconductor strip is between two neighboring ones of the isolation regions. A dummy gate strip is formed over the hard mask strip, wherein a lengthwise direction of the dummy gate strip is perpendicular to a lengthwise direction of the semiconductor strip, and wherein a portion of the dummy gate strip is aligned to a portion of the semiconductor strip. The method further includes removing the dummy gate strip, removing the hard mask strip, and recessing first portions of the isolation regions that are overlapped by the removed hard mask strip. A portion of the semiconductor strip between and contacting the removed first portions of the isolation regions forms a semiconductor fin.

The method further includes in response to receiving, at the image capturing device, image data including image color values associated with a primary color space, converting, via the processor, the image color values to the perceptually uniform color space to generate image data having more perceptual uniformity for colors that are frequent in the real world.

    Abstract: A control method and a wind turbine for adaptively adjusting the operation of the wind turbine to maintain maximum power production during degraded conditions. The control system has an estimator module that determines a scaling factor based on the current set of control signals and at least the current set of measurement of the operating parameters. The scaling factor is transmitted to a control module which scales at least one aerodynamic property of the rotor based on this scaling factor. The control module further determines the ideal settings for the control signals based on the scaled aerodynamic properties. The present control method scales the aerodynamic properties to provide a better representation of the actual degraded aerodynamic properties.

    Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system that manages use of a battery in a portable electronic device. During operation, the system operates a charging circuit for converting an input voltage from a power source into a set of output voltages for charging the battery and powering a low-voltage subsystem and a high-voltage subsystem in the portable electronic device. Upon detecting the input voltage from the power source and a low-voltage state in the battery during operation of the charging circuit, the system uses a first inductor group in the charging circuit to down-convert the input voltage to a target voltage of the battery that is lower than a voltage requirement of the high-voltage subsystem. The system also uses a second inductor group in the charging circuit to up-convert the target voltage to power the high-voltage subsystem.
