Abstract: A remote control device and method with speech control for controlling an electric appliance which stores up an identifiable speech vocabulary data. The remote control device includes a sensor and a speech identification module. The sensor receives speech to produce a speech sense signal. The speech identification module establishes contact to the electric appliance through communication protocol and obtains the identifiable speech vocabulary data with which a speech vocabulary of the speech sense signal is compared to produce a remote control signal. The remote control signal controls the said electric appliance by communication protocol.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for speech control is provided. The apparatus includes a speech receiver, a speech recognition engine, and an automatic regulation device. In the method, first, a speech is received. Then the speech is identified to obtain an operating order which is to adjust the quantification set with graduation. The machine's quantification set is automatically regulated by means of the operating order. Last, the regulation of the said quantification set is stopped.

Abstract: A method and a device for speech synthesizing are provided. The method is used for generating a speech answer in a speech dialogue system, in which the speech dialogue system includes a speech recognizing process for recognizing a speech input inputted from a user to generate a textual answer.

Abstract: An apparatus for extending “phone book” records of a subscriber identification module (SIM) card comprising a detecting module for accessing a subscriber identification code (SIC) of the SIM card and a memory is provided. A storage window marked by the SIC is defined in the memory. As the user edits the “phone book” records of the SIM card, a portion of the records is stored in the marked storage window.

Abstract: A lock includes an inside handle, an outside handle, and a body between the handles. A spindle is mounted to each handle to turn therewith. Two pivotable wheels are mounted in the case and operably connected to the inside and outside spindles and a latch bolt such that turning of either handle causes retraction of the latch bolt. One of the wheels engaging with the outside spindle includes a notch communicated with a through-hole of the wheel. A lever extends through the notch of the wheel and includes an end in the through-hole of the notched wheel. When a locking plug is moved to a blocking position, the end of the lever sways to move the outside spindle out of the through-hole of the notched wheel such that the outside handle turns idly when the outside handle is turned.

Abstract: An integrated dialogue system is provided. The system comprises a bridge and a plurality of domains, wherein all domains are coupled to the bridge with bidirectional communications. A domain database is optional to the domains. After receiving an input data, the domain recognizes the input data and determines whether to process the input data by itself, or to process the input data in the domain and transmit a dialogue result and the input data to another domain, or transmit the input data to another domain without processing.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a method of editing a new interface of a portable electronic device by using a browser in which the new interface is edited with texts and graphs provided on a website associated with a server, which comprises the steps of enabling the portable electronic device to access the Internet and to login the website associated with the server; inputting and editing texts and graphs provided on the website associated with the server through a browser so as to edit a picture frame of the new interface; and downloading the edited interface to a specific folder in the portable electronic device to replace an original interface thereof.

A peripheral wall delimiting a central hole of the inside rose liner includes at least one pair of notches. A reinforcing ring is mounted round the inside seat and inside the inside rose liner. The reinforcing ring includes two tabs each having a distal end received in a respective groove of the inside seat, preventing relative rotation between the reinforcing ring and the main body. Two positioning posts extend from an outside rose liner mounted around the outside seat. Two fasteners extend through the reinforcing ring and the inside rose liner into screw holes of the positioning posts, thereby securing the reinforcing ring, the inside rose liner, and the outside rose liner together. The torque-resisting capacity is thus improved.

Abstract: A mortise lock includes a chassis mounted in a mounting hole of a door and an outside handle assembly mounted to a side of the chassis. The outside handle assembly includes an outside spindle having a first end partially received in the chassis and operably connected to at least one bolt of the chassis such that rotation of the outside spindle causes retraction of the bolt. The first end of the outside spindle includes a perimeter groove, forming a fragile portion. An outside handle includes an end securely connected to a second end of the outside spindle to turn therewith. The fragile portion of the outside spindle is broken when an excessive force is applied to the outside handle. Thus, unauthorized opening of the door by forcibly turning the outside handle is prevented. Further, the mortise lock can be easily installed, and the cost of the mortise lock is cut.

Abstract: A lock includes a hub and a spindle having an end rotatably received in the hub. The hub includes two diametrically disposed protrusions, and the spindle includes two openings. A resilient retaining ring includes a body mounted around the hub. The body includes two distal ends with an opening defined between the distal ends. The body includes two diametrically projections on an inner periphery thereof. The projections are securely received in the openings of the spindle. The resilient retaining ring further includes a tooth on an outer periphery thereof. The tooth is in contact with and thus stopped by one of the protrusions of the hub when the spindle is turned through an angle in either direction, thereby preventing further rotation of the spindle.

Abstract: A rake assembly with pickup function comprises a handle rod having an end connected to a rake plate; a two-piece pivotal link rod with one end connected to a clamping plate, and the handle rod passes through the space between the two pivotal link rods at a position proximate to the body of the rake plate, a pair of link plates with both ends pivotally coupled to the handle rod and the body of the pivotal rods; a pushing rod being parallel to the handle rod and shifted along the body of the handle rod, and the bottom of the pushing rod is connected to the link rods. By the foregoing structure, users can push or pull the pushing rod along the handle rod to drive the pivotal link rod and the handle rod for alternate pivotal movements and thus producing a clamping movement or a releasing movement between the rake plate and the clamping plate.

Abstract: A video device with a voice-assisted system is provided by using a voice command to adjust the images. The voice-assisted system includes a voice recognition engine and a control unit. The voice recognition engine receives a voice command and outputting a voice signal based on the voice command to the control unit. The control unit based on the voice signal performs the adjustment actions to adjust image. The user only requires inputting a single voice command. The voice recognition engine then can perform a series of actions to adjust image. Therefore, the voice-assisted system can enhance the convenience of adjusting the image of the video device and reduce the operation complexity for the user.

Abstract: An interactive computer-assisted language learning method implemented by means of a language learning system is provided. First, the correct pronunciation of a first sentence is output from the language learning system. Thereafter, a learner pronounces the first sentence in imitation to the correct pronunciation. The first pronunciation by the learner is compared with the correct pronunciation according to the language learning system. The learner may pronounce the sentence again according to the compared result. A comment according to these results of the comparison is output to show the learner's faults. Meanwhile, the language learning system also pronounces a second sentence with a pronunciation similar to the first sentence and phrases, examples, synonyms related to the first sentence so that the learner can learn grammar and practice hearing skills simultaneously.

Each mounting rod includes a first end with a screw hole and a second end engaged in an associated one of the engaging slots of the outside rose liner. The mounting rods are respectively positioned in the recessed portions of the hub.

Abstract: An outside spindle is mounted to an outside handle of a lock to turn therewith. An outer end of the outside spindle includes a slot and at least one engaging piece formed thereon. A core retainer is securely mounted to the outer end of the outside spindle. The core retainer receives and positions a lock core interchangeably mounted in the outside handle. The core retainer includes a longitudinal slot aligned with the slot of the outside spindle, with the lock core extending into the slot of the outside spindle and the longitudinal slot of the core retainer. The core retainer further includes at least one positioning opening for securely receiving the engaging piece of the outside spindle, providing the lock core with a pulling-resisting effect in the axial direction.

Abstract: A method for more effectively recognizing a speech is proposed. The common habit of saying the same word again or even repeating the same word for several times when an oral instruction given by a person to a machine is not accepted at the first time is employed in the present invention. The consequences of being successively rejected twice or even several times and having no output of the conventional speech recognition system can be remedied properly through employing the proposed method so as to have a relatively higher availability and correctiveness.

The wall further includes two arcuate sections respectively engaged with the arcuate surfaces of the inside seat. Thus, the torque-bearing capacity of the door lock is improved.
