Abstract: The invention generally relates to electronic collaboration sessions and, more particularly, to systems and methods for providing reconnection to and migration of electronic collaboration sessions. A method for managing a collaboration session includes providing a computer infrastructure structured and arranged to store data regarding a plurality of clients of a collaboration session, and monitor a connection of each of the plurality of clients to a host system. The computer infrastructure is further operable to (i) migrate the plurality of clients to a new host system after determining that a number of the plurality of clients experiencing connection problems with the first host system exceeds a threshold value and/or (ii) present customized summary data to at least one of the plurality of clients after the at least one of the plurality of clients reconnects to the collaboration session after having been disconnected from the collaboration session.

The computer implemented method generates bootable system recovery images to form a set of bootable system recovery images, creates a list of authorized users from a set of subscribers, and receives a request for a bootable system recovery image, including a subscriber identifier, to form a received request. The computer implemented method further authenticates the subscriber identifier in the received request and sends the bootable system recovery image to the subscriber. The system and method enables a subscriber station to transmit a plurality of recorded timers to a television provider's head end where the timers are associated with television programs the subscriber desires to have remotely recording in case of a local DVR failure. This system and method also enables the data processor at the television provider's head end to monitor the digital recording device while the programs selected are being broadcast, and in the event of a power outage, record the program selected on the data storage space.

Abstract: An installation of a new operating system on a data processing system can be aborted, wherein an old operating system, which is already resident on the data processing system, can be reused. During the installation of the new operating system, temporary files of the new operating system are built on the data processing system, based on information provided by a user. This information may be provided by voice input. After building the temporary files, the user is given an opportunity to abort the installation. If the user elects to abort the installation, then the temporary files of the new operating system are deleted and use of the old operating system continues. If the user elects to continue with the installation, then the new operating system is installed onto the data processing system.
