Abstract: The present disclosure, in its various aspects, is directed to expandable guide devices, implementation methods, and related delivery systems. Embodiments according to the present disclosure, including as described herein, may increase the effectiveness and efficiency of endoscopy procedures. In one example, an embodiment includes an expandable guide device, the device configured to slidingly receive an instrument through an instrument lumen of the device. An internal expandable member is disposed within the body and expandable radially from the inward-facing surface of the body, and an external expandable member is disposed about the body and expandable radially from the outward-facing surface. In some embodiments, the external and internal expandable members are balloons and comprise a compliant and a non-compliant material, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20210315595
Abstract: A medical instrument may include a tube, a sheath provided around and coaxial with the tube, and an inflatable balloon at a distal end of the sheath. The balloon may receive a fluid from a lumen of the sheath, and may have a central opening along a longitudinal axis thereof, and into which the tube extends, a proximal portion, a middle portion adjacent to and distal of the proximal portion, and a distal portion adjacent to and proximal of the middle portion. When the balloon is inflated with the fluid, a maximum diameter of the middle portion may be less than a maximum diameter of the proximal portion, and less than a maximum diameter of the distal portion. The medical instrument may also include an extraction member provided at a distal end of the tube, distal to the balloon, and movable axially relative to the balloon.

  • Publication number: 20210212848
Abstract: An illustrative stent includes an elongated tubular member comprising at least one strut or filament forming a tubular wall having a plurality of cells extending through a thickness of the tubular wall. The elongated tubular member may be configured to move between a radially collapsed configuration and a radially expanded configuration. A coating is disposed on the elongated tubular member and spanning the plurality of cells. The coating forms a pocket within at least some of the cells of the plurality of cells and extends radially inward of the tubular wall to define a void. In some instances, a partition or wall is positioned within at least some of the pockets and transects the void.

  • Publication number: 20210015548
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices for accessing body lumens. In particular, the present disclosure relates to medical devices, systems and methods for enlarging an opening of a body lumen. In an embodiment, a device may include a flexible elongate tube. A distal end of the tube may be configured to access an opening of a body lumen. A plurality of wire lumens may extend from the distal end of the tube toward a proximal end of the tube that are radially offset from and substantially parallel with a longitudinal axis. At least a portion of the plurality of wire lumens may be exposed to an outer surface of the tube along a distal portion. A plurality of wires may each extend along a respective wire lumen. A portion of each wire may extend externally to the wire lumens exposed to the outer surface.

  • Publication number: 20210007869
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to stents and methods for managing passage of material through a body lumen. In some embodiments, a medical stent may include a stent body defined by a hollow tubular elongate structure extending along a central axis, the stent body including a first portion and a second portion. The medical stent may further include a control region between the first and second portions, wherein in a first configuration the hollow tubular elongate structure of the control region is in a closed, twisted configuration, and wherein in a second configuration the hollow tubular elongate structure of the control region is in an open, expanded configuration.

  • Publication number: 20200214858
Abstract: An illustrative stent may comprise an elongated tubular member having a longitudinal axis, the elongated tubular member comprising at least one knitted filament forming a plurality of twisted knit stitches with intermediate rung portions extending circumferentially between radially adjacent twisted knit stitches. Each twisted knit stitch may be interconnected with a longitudinally adjacent twisted knit stitch forming a series of linked stitches. The elongated tubular member may be configured to move between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, wherein in the collapsed configuration the series of linked stitches form longitudinal columns and in the expanded configuration the series of linked stitches extend helically around the elongated tubular member.
