Abstract: Novel benzimidazol-2-ones of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, cycloalkylalkyl of 4 to 7 carbon atoms, alkenyl and alkynyl of 3 to 5 carbon atoms with the multiple bond not between the carbons .alpha.- and .beta.- to the nitrogen and aralkyl of 7 to 12 carbon atoms optionally substituted with at least one member of the group consisting of halogen and alkyl and alkoxy of 1 to 5 carbon atoms and R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, --OH, alkoxy of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, phenoxy and phenylalkoxy of 7 to 9 carbon atoms and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having dopaminergic, antiulcerous, and antihypertensive and vasodilatatory activity.

Abstract: Novel tetrahydrobenz[c,d]indoles of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms and cycloalkyl of 3 to 6 carbon atoms and R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, chlorine and bromine and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having antianoxic, hypotensive, antihypertensive and dopaminergic agonist activity.

Abstract: Novel racemic mixtures and optical isomers of 4-morpholinyl-1H-indoles of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R and R.sub.1 are individually selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of hydroxymethyl, alkylthiomethyl of 1 to 3 alkyl carbons, cyanomethyl and carboxy optionally esterified with an aliphatic alcohol of 1 to 5 carbon atoms or optionally amidified with an amine of the formula ##STR2## R.sub.3 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R.sub.4 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having the ability to activate neurons and to protect the same against ischemic or anoxic aggressions.

Abstract: A method of inducing neuron protective activity in warm-blooded animals comprising administering to warm-blooded animals an amount sufficient to induce protective activity of at least one compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R and R.sub.2 are individually selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, chlorine and bromine and R.sub.3 is alkylthiomethyl of 1 to 4 alkyl carbon atoms, the dotted line indicates the optional presence of a double bond and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts useful for treating aged persons or persons suffering cerebral injury.

Abstract: Novel pyrazolobenzoxazines of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, cycloalkylalkyl or 4 to 7 carbon atoms, alkenyl and alkynyl of 3 to 5 carbon atoms with the proviso that the multiple bond is not between the carbon .alpha.- and .beta.- to the nitrogen atom, aralkyl of 7 to 12 carbon atoms and aralkyl of 7 to 12 carbon atoms substituted with at least one member of the group consisting of alkyl and alkoxy of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, amino, -OH and halogen, X is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and --CH.sub.2 --S--Alk, Alk is alkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, the wavy line indicates the .alpha.- or .beta.-position and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having dopaminergic agonistic, hypotensive, antihypertensive and antianoxic properties and their preparation.

Abstract: Novel 6-amino-7-hydroxy-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-imidazo[4,5,l-j-k][1]-benzazepin-2-(1 H)-one derivatives of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms optionally substituted with a hydroxyl, aryl and aryloxy of 6 to 10 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of 3 to 7 carbon atoms optionally interrupted with a heteroatom optionally substituted with alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and the wavy lines indicates that the 7-OH and 6-amino have the trans configuration and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having remarkable anti-hypertensive and hypotensive activity and vasodilatatory activity and their preparation.

Abstract: A novel process for the preparation of 17.beta.-hydroxyacetyl-17.alpha.-ol-steroids of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms optionally substituted with halogen or an oxygen or nitrogen function and alkenyl and alkynyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and the A,B,C and D rings may contain one or more double bonds and are optionally substituted with at least one member of the group consisting of hydroxy, keto, halogen, alkyl and alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and alkenyl and alkynyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms which compounds are generally known of the cortisonic type with known properties.

Abstract: Novel 3-(1,2,5,6-tetrahydropyridin-3-yl)-phenols of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and an acyl of an organic carboxylic acid of 2 to 7 carbon atoms, Y is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and --OX, R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms optionally substituted with --OH, cycloalkylalkyl of 4 to 7 carbon atoms, alkenyl and alkynyl of 3 to 5 carbon atoms and aralkyl of 7 to 12 carbon atoms optionally substituted on the alkyl with --OH with the proviso that when R is hydrogen, X is hydrogen and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having dopaminergic agonist and/or antagonist properties and their preparation.

Abstract: A novel process for the preparation of 3-amino-steroids of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of ##STR2## and the wavy lines indicate that the substituents may be in the .alpha.- or .beta.-position and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts in good yields and novel intermediates.
