Abstract: Novel 7-aminobenzocycloheptenes of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of --NO.sub.2, --NH.sub.2, CH.sub.3 O-- and --OH, R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is alkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms and R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a saturated heterocycle of 4 to 6 ring carbon atoms optionally containing a second heteroatom in the ring and optionally substituted with an alkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts in optically active or racemic mixture form having antidepressant activity and a process for their preparation.

Abstract: 7-AMINO-6,7-DIHYDRO [5H] benzocycloheptenes of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, chlorine, bromine and iodine in 2- or 4- position of the ring when halogen and R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and phenyl alkyl of 7 to 10 carbon atoms and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having antidepressive activity and a process for their preparation and novel intermediates.

Abstract: 2,2-DIMETHYL-19-NOR-STEROIDS OF THE FORMULA ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, ##STR2## and R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and hydrocarbon of 1 to 17 carbon atoms and the dotted lines indicate the optional presence of a double bond in 9(10) and 11(12) positions having antialdosteronic activity and an increased sodium diuresis with conservation of organic potassium and their preparation and novel intermediates.

Abstract: Novel phenethylamines of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, acyl of an aliphatic carboxylic acid of 2 to 6 carbon atoms and benzoyl and Y is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and --OX and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having dopaminergic stimulating activity and their preparation and novel intermediates.

Abstract: Novel benzazepines of the formula ##STR1## wherein n is 0 or 1 and R and R.sub.1 are individually selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and methyl with the proviso that when R.sub.1 is methyl, R is also methyl and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having antidepressive activity and novel intermediates and processes for the preparation of the said compounds.

Abstract: Novel phenyl piperidines of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and acyl of an aliphatic carboxylic acid of 2 to 6 carbon atoms and R is selected from the group consisting of alkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, alkenyl of 2 to 5 carbon atoms and phenyl alkyl of 1 to 3 alkyl carbon atoms and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having dopaminergic properties and certain of the compounds possess hypotensive properties.

Abstract: Novel compounds selected from the group consisting of phenylpiperidines of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and an acyl of aliphatic carboxylic acid of 2 to 6 carbon atoms and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts possessing dopaminergic properties and some of which possess hypotensive properties and their preparation.
