Patent number: 10635736Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure a method and technique for managing data transfer includes receiving and storing a plurality of different data patterns anticipated to be encountered by a processor unit of a data processing system corresponding to a particular application being processed. Responsive to receiving a read request for data, the requested data is read from a memory subsystem, and the read data is compared by the memory subsystem to the stored data patterns. Responsive to determining that the read data matches at least one of the stored data patterns, the memory subsystem replaces the matching read data with a pattern tag corresponding to the matching data pattern. The pattern tag is transmitted to the processor unit instead of the requested data as a response to the read request, and the processor unit replaces the pattern tag with the corresponding data pattern.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 2018Date of Patent: April 28, 2020Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Robert H. Publication number: 20200074332Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes determining a current state and a current context of an environment in which an automated agent runs to execute a contingent plan. The state indicates that one or more fluents of a plurality of fluents are true, and the plurality of fluents are associated with a contingent problem solved by the contingent plan. The context describes values corresponding to the one or more fluents. An action is performed with respect to at least a subset of the context. A nondeterministic effect of the action on the environment is evaluated, using a computer processor. The state is updated based on the nondeterministic effect. The context is updated based on the nondeterministic effect.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2018Publication date: March 5, 2020Inventors: Christian Muise, Miroslav Vodolán, Ondrej Bajgar, Shubham Agarwal, Luis Lastras-Montano

Patent number: 10546247Abstract: An approach is provided in which an information handling system trains multiple classifiers using a set of training samples. The information handling system selects a leader classifier from the multiple classifiers that generates the most amount of correct decisions corresponding to the set of training samples. Next, the information handling system identifies an endorser classifier from the multiple classifiers that generates the highest proportion of correct decisions among the endorser classifier's decisions matching the leader classifier's decisions, and combines the leader classifier and the endorser classifier into a combined classifier stage. In turn, the information handling system utilizes the combined classifier stage to process inquiries and generate results.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2015Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Tin Kam Ho, Luis A. Patent number: 10452280Abstract: A method includes comparing a number of memory blocks in a first pool of free memory blocks in a memory to a threshold. The memory includes memory blocks that are logically divided into the first pool, a second pool, and a third pool of memory blocks. The first pool of free memory blocks is expanded based on determining that the number of memory blocks in the first pool of free memory blocks is less than the threshold. The expanding includes: selecting a first memory block from the second pool of memory blocks, the first memory block comprising active and non-active content; selecting a second memory block from the third pool of memory blocks; copying the active content of the first memory block to the second memory block; erasing the first memory block; and adding the first memory block to the first pool of free memory blocks.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2014Date of Patent: October 22, 2019Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Michele M.
