Patent number: 11700712Abstract: A technique and corresponding device to provide for a floating heat sink is disclosed. The technique includes a method that allows for insertion of an electronic component (e.g., an optical transceiver) into a cage that has a pre-installed heatsink. At the beginning phases of insertion, no friction is present between the electronic component and the heatsink. At or very near an insertion end phase (the electronic component is almost fully inserted), an actuator (e.g., roller or button) is impacted to impart a pivot motion via a lever arm to cause lowering of the heatsink toward the electronic component. A thermal interface material (TIM) may therefore be present to establish a thermal coupling between the heatsink and the electronic component. The TIM and heatsink contact the electronic component via a downward motion (caused by the pivot) to provide a nearly frictionless sliding impact to the TIM.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2021Date of Patent: July 11, 2023Assignee: Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LPInventors: Tatt Hoong Chow, Tri Luong Nguyen, Mun Hoong Tai

Patent number: 11690741Abstract: Vascular remodeling devices can include a proximal section, an intermediate section, and a distal section. During deployment, the proximal section can expand from a compressed delivery state to an expanded state and anchor the device in an afferent vessel of a bifurcation. The distal section expands from the compressed delivery state to an expanded state that may be substantially planar, approximately semi-spherical, umbrella shaped, or reverse umbrella shaped. The distal section is positioned in a bifurcation junction across the neck of an aneurysm or within an aneurysm. The intermediate section allows perfusion to efferent vessels. Before or after the device is in position, embolic material may be used to treat the aneurysm. The distal section can act as a scaffolding to prevent herniation of the embolic material. The device can be used for clot retrieval with integral distal embolic protection.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2020Date of Patent: July 4, 2023Assignee: COVIDIEN LPInventors: Anh Cam, Michael Losordo, Jianlu Ma, Luong Nguyen, Sanjay Shrivastava, John Wainwright, Xiaoling Zhao

Publication number: 20230003734Abstract: Methods for purifying and isolating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from a biofluid using a sequential processing. Tangential flow filtration is applied to the biofluid to increase the concentration of EVs in the biofluid. After this is achieved, enrichment mode is halted and the biofluid is processed in diafiltration mode to remove contaminants (up to 99.9%). After performing the tangential flow filtration step, the concentration of EVs in the biofluid is further increased by ultracentrifugal filtration. After performing the ultracentrifugal filtration step, EVs of a particular target type are separated from other EVs by immunomagnetic affinity separation. In some implementations, the methods are used to isolate and quantify tumor EVs for cancer evaluation. Additionally, these methods can be used with a scaling factor to quantify EVs from a less concentrated biofluid such as, for example, urine.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 8, 2020Publication date: January 5, 2023Inventors: Eduardo Reategui, Andre Palmer, Jingjing Zhang, Richard Hickey, Thi Hien Luong Nguyen
