  • Publication number: 20050222588
Abstract: A surgical clip applier includes a handle assembly, a first clip assembly, and a second clip assembly. The first clip assembly is adapted to receive only a single clip while the second clip assembly is adapted to receive multiple clips. The handle assembly is sized and configured to receive alternatively the first clip assembly or the second clip assembly. A jaw assembly includes a pair of jaws each with an elongate support arm, and a bridge holding the jaws in an aligned relationship. A housing has a fixed relationship with the bridge while permitting movement of the jaws between an open and a closed state. A coupling is provided to attach the housing to the handle assembly. An associated method of operation includes the step of removing one of the single clip jaw assembly and the multiple clip-jaw assembly, disposing of the one jaw assembly while mounting the other jaw assembly on the handle.

  • Publication number: 20040148139
Abstract: A method for comparing a data set to a baseline value comprising: providing the data set to be analyzed; locating potentially bad data points in at least a portion of the data set using an odd-man out recursive technique; preparing a baseline set by discarding the potentially bad data points from the at least a portion of the data set; and calculating a baseline value from the baseline set. A method for smoothing a data set comprising: providing the data set to be analyzed; determining a baseline value from at least a portion of the data set; smoothing the data set to diminish an effect of extraneous data points and obtain smoothed data, wherein the smoothing includes using a low-point weighted average and regression technique.

  • Patent number: 6125312
Abstract: The system provides engine maintenance information automatically from fault code data received from an onboard engine performance monitoring computer. The maintenance information is provided by an HTML repair guide electronically called by the control system using the fault code as part of the page address in the HTML guide. The control system automatically ensures that all fault codes are responded to, i.e. that maintenance personnel carry out the appropriate maintenance actions in response to each and every fault code, with a view to improve quality assurance of maintenance. Maintenance actions of maintenance personnel are automatically for the purposes of validating and/or generating warranty claim applications. The system also has a warranty claim report generator for processing aircraft maintenance action log data.

The control system automatically ensures that all fault codes are responded to, i.e. that maintenance personnel carry out the appropriate maintenance actions in response to each and every fault code, with a view to improve quality assurance of maintenance. Maintenance actions of maintenance personnel are automatically recorded for the purposes of validating and/or generating warranty claim applications. The system also has a warranty claim report generator for processing aircraft maintenance action log data.

  • Patent number: 5668961
Abstract: A system and method for displaying on a computer screen a specified data object that is part of a data table, in response to a user selecting a displayed object metaphor. The indexed location of the data object relative to other similar data objects in the table is computed and the maximum pixel positions needed to display characters on the screen is also determined. The system also produces the total number of similar data objects in the table and computes a signal that is proportional to the combination of the indexed location and the maximum character pixel positions. From the first signal, a second signal is created that is proportional to the value of the combination further combined with the total number of similar data objects in the table. Generally, the second signal is translated into a value representing the character pixel location of the specified data object and this value is used to position the object display.

  • Patent number: 5644736
Abstract: Graphical user interface (GUI) logic for enabling the selection and displaying of specific directories, subdirectories, and files. The GUI logic displays on the screen the selection and deselection options that are available. The entire hierarchical tree structure of the file system can be selected for a particular operation or any leaf or node of the tree may be selected. The logic automatically traverses the tree in response to a user's selection of a displayed object on the screen. Since the selection mode of the input device, such as a mouse, is displayed on the screen it is readily apparent to the user.
