Abstract: A railing panel includes a top rail and a bottom rail disposed spaced apart from the top rail. A plurality of slats are disposed between and run parallel to the top rail and the bottom rail. A midspan support rail defines a plurality of through holes, with each through hole receiving a slat therethrough. A length adapter includes an upright end rail that defines a plurality of apertures, and an upper insertable portion that is disposed at a first end of the upright end rail. The length adapter also includes a lower insertable portion that is disposed at a second end of the upright end rail opposite the first end, and each of the plurality of apertures is sized and shaped to receive an end of each of the plurality of slats. A plurality of inserts are coupled to the upright end rail, with each insert disposed proximate a respective aperture of the plurality of apertures, each insert configured to be received by a respective slat.

  • Publication number: 20220375161
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to arbitration for computer memory resources. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes queue circuitry that implements multiple queues configured to queue requests to access a memory bus. Control circuitry may, in response to detecting a first threshold condition associated with the queue circuitry, generate a first snapshot that indicates numbers of requests in respective queues of the multiple queues at a first time. The control circuitry may generate a second snapshot that indicates numbers of requests in respective queues of the multiple queues at a second time that is subsequent to the first time. The control circuitry may arbitrate between requests from the multiple queues to select requests to access the memory bus, where the arbitration is based on snapshots to which requests from the multiple queues belong. Disclosed techniques may approximate age-based scheduling while reducing area and power consumption.

  • Patent number: 11482223
Abstract: A language understanding system is configured to process utterances to predict intents of users, including by suggesting utterances and intents based on searches performed by one or more microservices. A central service is configured to receive inputs/queries from a user, to communicate with a plurality of language processing microservices, and to return a response to the user. The microservices may be configured to apply respective search algorithms comparing the input to respective data sources such as databases, indexes, or knowledge graphs. The microservices may rate utterances and/or entities in the respective data sources with respect to the input. The one or more microservices may generate a ranked list and return the ranked list to the central service. The central service may then apply a secondary rating/ranking algorithm in order to select one or more predicted utterances and/or entities to return to the user based on the initial user input.

  • Publication number: 20220325845
Abstract: Support systems and stands for electronic devices include tilt hinges, lift arms, and their component parts. Some tilt hinges include assemblies for guiding and retaining bars or protrusions into preferred positioning within receiver openings to unify the parts, particularly as they move, and to reduce wobble or slop in the joints. Lift arms provide simplified and low-cost guidance and counterbalance mechanisms for controlling movement of the electronic device relative to the base of a stand. In some cases, the lift arms have sheaths to help protect or cover mechanisms while allowing additional space for the mechanisms within the lift arm. Other interconnection systems hide and protect a connector interface between the stand and the electronic device within a housing until unlocked and the connector is moved into an exposed position. These systems improve efficiency, comfort, ergonomics, accessibility, and user satisfaction of the electronic devices and their supports.

  • Publication number: 20220258052
Abstract: Systems and methods for capturing and utilizing multimedia-based analytics to generate predictions about game-play in computer-based games and contests. In an embodiment, a video feed analyzes one or more video feeds frame by frame to determine one or more features within each video frame. Each feature may be collected in a central data collector and converted to one or more metrics about each collected parameter or feature. These metrics may be used to analyze and predict various aspects of the underlying game or contest, such as probability of winning by one side or the other. Further, the predictive data and analytical data may be displayed on a display separate from actual gameplay or may be overlaid upon the game play video feed. In this manner, the overlay video may be synchronized with the original video feed to present predictive data in conjunction with the video data used to influence the predictive data at the time.

  • Publication number: 20220236765
Abstract: Accessory devices for portable electronic devices are described. An exemplary accessory device can include a first segment coupled to a second segment via a first hinge assembly. The accessory can include a third segment coupled to the second segment via a second hinge assembly such that the second segment is positioned between the first and third segments. The accessory device can be arranged between a closed configuration and a configuration of a stand that supports the portable electronic device at a viewing angle. At the support configuration, the second segment can be at an acute angle relative to the first segment to shift the center of gravity of the system towards the middle. The third segment can be suspended above the first segment and be inclined outwards. The hinge assemblies of the system can be sufficiently stiff to withstand the weight of the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 11383019
Abstract: A dressing includes a foam layer, a plurality of cores extending substantially through the foam layer, and a drape sealable over the foam layer and a wound bed. The drape is couplable to a pump operable to create a negative pressure in the substantially-airtight volume. Each core is substantially removable from the foam layer to reveal a channel through the foam layer. Each core is defined by perforations that facilitate separation of the core from the foam layer.

  • Publication number: 20220214751
Abstract: An electronic device has a housing that forms an exterior surface of the electronic device. An array of actuators is coupled to the housing and is operable to move the housing in order to produce sound waves and/or haptic output via the exterior surface. In this way, less space is consumed by acoustic and haptic devices as compared to similar conventional devices, thereby allowing for thinner electronic devices and/or room for other components within the housing. The actuators may be operable to move different regions of the housing to produce sound waves and/or haptic output within different frequency ranges.

  • Publication number: 20220181102
Abstract: Key assemblies having a foldable stabilizer are disclosed. The stabilizer can be positioned under a keycap to help guide the keycap and limit rotation or movement when the key is pressed. The stabilizer can have a pointed-star shape with multiple folding axes and can have multiple points of connection or linkage to the keycap or other surrounding components. The stabilizer can unfold or flatten as the keycap is pressed and can fold as the keycap is raised.

  • Patent number: 11353933
Abstract: A notebook computer may include a display portion, a base portion, a hinge mechanism movably coupling the display portion to the base portion, an optical sensing system configured to capture an image of an object, an actuation system comprising a shape-memory alloy member coupled to the base portion and the display portion and configured to move the display portion relative to the base portion, and a processing system. The processing system may be configured to determine a target position for the display portion based at least in part on a location of the object in the image and cause the actuation system to actuate the hinge mechanism to move the display portion, relative to the base portion, from an initial position to the target position.

  • Patent number: 11353827
Abstract: The frequency stability of an optical local oscillator is improved by locking a laser to a silicon Fabry-Perot cavity operating at a temperature near 124 K, where the coefficient of thermal expansion of silicon is near zero. The cavity is mounted inside a cryostat housed in a temperature-stabilized vacuum system that is surrounded by an isolating enclosure and supported by an active vibration platform. Laser light is steered with a superpolished mirror toward a superpolished focusing optic that couples the laser light into the cavity. Light reflected from the cavity is used to stabilize the laser via the Pound-Drever-Hall technique, while light transmitted through the cavity is used to stabilize the laser power. A resonant transimpedance amplifier allows the laser power to be reduced, which reduces heating of the cavity caused by residual absorption of the light.
