  • Patent number: 11307615
Abstract: Accessory devices for portable electronic devices are described. An exemplary accessory device can include a first segment coupled to a second segment via a first hinge assembly. The accessory can include a third segment coupled to the second segment via a second hinge assembly such that the second segment is positioned between the first and third segments. The accessory device can be arranged between a closed configuration and a configuration of a stand that supports the portable electronic device at a viewing angle. At the support configuration, the second segment can be at an acute angle relative to the first segment to shift the center of gravity of the system towards the middle. The third segment can be suspended above the first segment and be inclined outwards. The hinge assemblies of the system can be sufficiently stiff to withstand the weight of the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 11307661
Abstract: An electronic device has a housing that forms an exterior surface of the electronic device. An array of actuators is coupled to the housing and is operable to move the housing in order to produce sound waves and/or haptic output via the exterior surface. In this way, less space is consumed by acoustic and haptic devices as compared to similar conventional devices, thereby allowing for thinner electronic devices and/or room for other components within the housing. The actuators may be operable to move different regions of the housing to produce sound waves and/or haptic output within different frequency ranges.

  • Publication number: 20220113152
Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for the generation of a node map using contraction hierarchy techniques in a manner that accounts for constraints that apply to nodes or links between nodes in the node map. Candidate shortcut links, that represent paths through multiple links in the node map, may be evaluated to determine whether such candidate shortcut links are less restrictive than less costly paths having the same starting and ending nodes as the candidate shortcut links. Candidate shortcut links may be added to the node map in situations where less costly paths are available, but are more restrictive than the shortcut links. At query time, the shortcut links may apply to certain queries having parameters that violate constraints associated with the less costly paths but do not violate any applicable constraints of the shortcut links.

  • Publication number: 20220113150
Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for selectively adding or forgoing adding shortcut links to a node map using contraction hierarchy techniques based on turn costs. “Useful” turn pairs for a given path through a shortcut link may include a turn into a first node of the shortcut link and a turn out of a second node of the shortcut link, where no alternative lower cost paths (including such “useful” turn pairs) from the first node to the second node are available. The useful turn pairs for a shortcut link may be used to evaluate super shortcut links that includes the shortcut link with identified useful turn pairs. For example, a search for alternative lower cost paths may need not be performed for paths, associated with the super shortcut link, which do not include a turn from the useful turn pairs of the component shortcut link.

  • Patent number: 11285256
Abstract: A negative pressure wound therapy system includes a dressing, a tube, a flow restriction pad, and an in-line filter. The dressing is configured for placement in a wound bed. The tube includes a first end and a second end. The first end is configured to be operably coupled to the dressing. The second end is configured to engage a negative pressure source. The flow restriction pad is configured to be coupled to the dressing proximate the first end of the tube. The flow restriction pad includes a tortuous fluid flow path that is configured to restrict or reduce an amount of a fluid drawn from the dressing into the tube and induce a backpressure between the dressing and the tube. The in-line filter is positioned within the tube between the first end and the second end. The in-line filter configured to substantially prevent the fluid entering the tube.

  • Publication number: 20220072193
Abstract: A selectively transparent wound therapy dressing, system, and method of use are provided. The dressing may include conformable foam and drape layers, wherein the drape layer has a refractive index substantially within a range of a disclosing liquid. When the disclosing liquid is applied to the drape layer, the drape layer may switch from opaque to transparent. Subsequent evaporation of the disclosing liquid may return the drape layer to an opaque state. Some embodiments provide for paired use with a negative pressure source input device. The method of use provides selective visibility of a treatment site, and reduces the amount of time in which a patient views an acute or traumatic wound or injury.

  • Publication number: 20220023103
Abstract: An indicator reversibly changes between a first state representative of a first fluid status of a wound dressing, to a second state representative of a second fluid status in response to changes in the fluid status of the wound dressing over time. The fluid status may be a fluid level or a fluid absorbency capacity of the wound dressing. The indicator includes an indicator layer on which one or more markings are provided. A top layer of the indicator transitions from being opaque in the first state to being transparent in the second state. The change from the markings being blocked from view in the first state to being visible in the second state occurs in response to a presence of a first amount of fluid in the wound dressing. The transition from the second state to the first state occurs when evaporation decreases the fluid in the wound dressing.

  • Patent number: 11213752
Abstract: Systems and methods for capturing and utilizing multimedia-based analytics to generate predictions about game-play in computer-based games and contests. In an embodiment, a video feed analyzes one or more video feeds frame by frame to determine one or more features within each video frame. Each feature may be collected in a central data collector and converted to one or more metrics about each collected parameter or feature. These metrics may be used to analyze and predict various aspects of the underlying game or contest, such as probability of winning by one side or the other. Further, the predictive data and analytical data may be displayed on a display separate from actual gameplay or may be overlaid upon the game play video feed. In this manner, the overlay video may be synchronized with the original video feed to present predictive data in conjunction with the video data used to influence the predictive data at the time.

  • Patent number: 11207896
Abstract: A system and method for printing an image on a surface using a printing robot, wherein data from an internal position determination system of the robot as well as data from a reference system comprising a stationary reference external to the robot are used to calculate an estimate of position, velocity and acceleration of the print head relative to the surface. As print head is moved along the surface during printing, i.e. as the print head is moved while ink is ejected from nozzles of the print head, the positioning of the print head and activation of nozzles of the print head are controlled based on the estimate.

  • Publication number: 20210303636
Abstract: A language understanding system is configured to process utterances to predict intents of users, including by suggesting utterances and intents based on searches performed by one or more microservices. A central service is configured to receive inputs/queries from a user, to communicate with a plurality of language processing microservices, and to return a response to the user. The microservices may be configured to apply respective search algorithms comparing the input to respective data sources such as databases, indexes, or knowledge graphs. The microservices may rate utterances and/or entities in the respective data sources with respect to the input. The one or more microservices may generate a ranked list and return the ranked list to the central service. The central service may then apply a secondary rating/ranking algorithm in order to select one or more predicted utterances and/or entities to return to the user based on the initial user input.

  • Publication number: 20210294391
Abstract: Cable assemblies for providing electrical communication between hinged sections of an electronic device are described. The cable assemblies can include a cover that covers one or more cables that run through a hinge region of the electronic device. The cable and cover can be drawn over a mandrel of the hinge region. The cover and the portions of the mandrel can be visible to a user at the hinge region of the electronic device. The cover can be sufficiently rigid to guide a path of the cable and protect the cable from bending beyond a prescribed angle during rotation of the electronic device at the hinge region. The cover can also be sufficiently rigid to prevent ceasing or folding of the cover and the cable during rotation of the electronic device at the hinge region.

  • Patent number: 11106249
Abstract: A hinge assembly includes a first and a second set of friction elements engaged each other by an applied force perpendicular to the friction elements. The first and the second set of friction elements are capable of rotational movement about a cylindrical element that passes through each of the friction elements. Also, the first set of friction elements is capable of movement relative to the second set of friction elements. However, the first set friction elements can remain in a fixed position based upon the applied force, until an external force overcomes the applied. During rotation of the first set of friction elements about the cylindrical element, the frictional engagement that controls the position of the first set of friction elements is based primarily on engagement between the friction elements, as opposed to engagement, if any, between the friction elements and the cylindrical element.
