  • Patent number: 7403041
Abstract: A line driver for generating 10 BT signals is disclosed. Digital symbols to be transmitted via a 10 BT Ethernet line are converted by a digital-to-analog converter into a corresponding analog voltage signal, which is fed into an active output impedance line driver. The digital-to-analog converter also receives a reference voltage reflecting variations of the supply voltage and adjusts its output signal accordingly to provide a deliberately variable analog voltage signal to the line driver.

  • Publication number: 20080091820
Abstract: A referral-tracking system accepts listings from originators and generates referral identifiers that represent referrals of those listings. A referral identifier represents a referral by the originator or by someone who, after receiving a listing identifier from an originator or someone else, applies to the system to be recognized as a referrer and has accordingly been issued a referral identifier that associates that requester with a listing to be referred. An originator or other requester applying for a referral identifier is given the option of identifying intended recipients to tracking system or not. If the requester does supply the tracking system with that information, the issued referral identifier is associated not only with the listings and the referring requester but also with the recipient. In that way, the system can provide conversion-rate information without discouraging participation by potential requesters who prefer not to divulge the recipients' identities.

  • Publication number: 20080082458
Abstract: A method, computer system, and program product for estimating savings realized in an enterprise. Data is input into a computer reflecting the dividing of the enterprise into sections Also input the computer is data reflecting the dividing of each section into one or more functions and recording the money spent for each function over a specified period of time. Also input into the computer is data recording the maturity of each function based on standardized criteria and percent improvement data for evaluating savings to be realized as the function improves from one maturity level to a higher maturity level. The computer estimates savings to be realized for each function as the function matures from one maturity level to a higher maturity level and consolidates savings to be realized for all functions in a section and all sections in tile enterprise.

  • Patent number: 7202328
Abstract: Method of producing an article comprising providing a raw material in the form of a plurality of polymer elements, the polymer elements comprising an amorphous polymer; heating the materials to a temperature above a first predetermined temperature; and compacting the material whilst above the first predetermined temperature. The first predetermined temperature is the Tg of the polymer elements, the pressure is between 100 and 200 psi; and the temperature and pressure of compaction are sufficient to soften the outer portion of the polymer elements and to cause the polymer elements to bonds to each other without melting or softening of the inner portion of polymer elements. A product is produced having a structure which comprises cores of amorphous polymer that have not been softened or melted in the method, surrounded by a mass of softened and re-hardened material which bonds the cores together.

  • Patent number: 7092043
Abstract: An integrated receiver with channel selection and image rejection substantially implemented on a single CMOS integrated circuit is described. A receiver front end provides programable attenuation and a programable gain low noise amplifier. Frequency conversion circuitry advantageously uses LC filters integrated onto the substrate in conjunction with image reject mixers to provide sufficient image frequency rejection. Filter tuning and inductor Q compensation over temperature are performed on chip. The filters utilize multi track spiral inductors. The filters are tuned using local oscillators to tune a substitute filter, and frequency scaling during filter component values to those of the filter being tuned. In conjunction with filtering, frequency planning provides additional image rejection. The advantageous choice of local oscillator signal generation methods on chip is by PLL out of band local oscillation and by direct synthesis for in band local oscillator.

  • Patent number: 7083409
Abstract: An oil burning lamp has a fuel reservoir, a fuel expansion chamber releasably and sealingly coupled to the fuel reservoir, a burner assembly coupled to the fuel expansion chamber, and an adjustable wick. If the fuel in the fuel reservoir undergoes thermal expansion, it flows into the fuel expansion chamber, thereby preventing fuel leaks and spills. In the preferred embodiment, the burner assembly is permanently coupled to the fuel expansion chamber, thereby preventing users from refueling the lamp while the lamp is burning. The fuel expansion chamber also serves as an overflow fuel chamber, so that if the lamp is inadvertently knocked over, the fuel will flow into the fuel expansion chamber, not out of the lamp.

  • Patent number: 6982067
Abstract: An axial/radial—or radial/flow catalytic reactor has inlet and outlet ports and a bed of particulate catalyst disposed as e.g. a cylinder or cone round a central region communicating with one of the ports. For at least part of the height of the catalyst bed, the exterior surface of the catalyst bed has a diameter less than that of the reactor thus leaving space between the exterior surface of the catalyst bed and the interior walls of the reactor. This space is filled with a particulate material presenting less resistance to flow than the catalyst particles.
