  • Publication number: 20160035409
Abstract: Circuits and methods are described for a DDR memory controller where two different DQS gating modes are utilized. These gating modes together ensure that the DQS signal, driven by a DDR memory to the memory controller, is only available when read data is valid. Two types of gating logic are used: Initial DQS gating logic, and Functional DQS gating logic. The Initial gating logic has additional timing margin in the Initial DQS gating value to allow for the unknown round trip timing during initial bit levelling calibration. DQS functional gating is then optimized during further calibration to gate DQS precisely as latency and phase calibration are performed, resulting in a precise gating value for Functional DQS gating. Providing dual gating modes is especially useful when data capture is performed at half the DQS frequency in view of rising clock rates for DDR memories.

  • Publication number: 20160034767
Abstract: Video analytics is used to track an object of interest represented in video data representing the field of view of a scene observed by a video camera. A multidimensional virtual beam is used to detect whether the tracked object of interest is continually present in a detection zone within the field view of the scene. An occurrence of an event is signaled when the tracked object of interest is continually present in the detection zone during a period beginning when the tracked object of interest enters the detection zone and ending when the tracked object of interest leaves the detection zone through the opposite side, after having completely crossed through the detection zone. Use of a virtual beam detection zone reduces false alarms as compared to the numbers of incidences of false alarms of traditional detection methods, while adding several features and benefits.

A Gaussian-mixture model can be linked to a hidden layer of the trained deep neural network such that any feature vector outputted from the hidden layer is received by the Gaussian-mixture model. The Gaussian-mixture model can be trained via a first portion of the trained deep neural network and using the set of training data. The first portion of the trained deep neural network can include an input layer of the deep neural network and the hidden layer. The first portion of the trained deep neural network and the trained Gaussian-mixture model can be a Deep Neural Network-Gaussian-Mixture Model (DNN-GMM) acoustic model.

  • Patent number: 9250823
Abstract: Physical storage is replaced online in a data integrity storage system comprising RAID groups of physical disks in separate enclosures (shelves). All disks of a RAID group are located on a corresponding shelf, and each shelf is mapped by an internal file system to a separate independent logical address space partitioned into a plurality of blocks forming a blockset containing data and metadata. Source shelf disk data is moved online to disks of a target shelf using invulnerable data movement that ensures the integrity of the data, and source shelf blockset metadata is migrated to a corresponding target shelf blockset. After verifying the correctness of the target data and metadata, the source shelf and blockset are removed.
